We’re looking aLITTLE better now...but here’s the key 3rd down play...
I still think it may take a DEFENSIVE Touchdown to seal this thing.

A running game would function much LIKE a better defense right about now...

That’s CLEARLY what Mullens is thinking. If they can drive the field here, ultimately score in the FOURTH quarter, we will have gone a LONG way towards starting to put this thing away!
End of the third. Ya see? Burn time running the ball, finding SOME points SOMEhow, and we can get outta here with a win after all. Then we get back at least ONE of the Senior Safeties (the one lost to that early “targeting call”—I don’t know for sure, but I THINK we get the other one back in a matter of weeks: add in how much improvement one can expect from the first game to the second, ESPECIALLY THIS YEAR with so little real prep-work before this game, and you can only HOPE that this defense WON’T LOOK SO BAD A SECOND TIME this season! Put a healthy Trask-led offense and a more ready and composed defense together and you know, ALMOST ANYTHING BECOMES “POSSIBLE”, able to be envisioned as to how the REST of the season goes, what our record CAN BE!

Geez, with a better showing from our D, we may really BE “the best in the East”—and that’ll only be decided come the Cocktail Party after ALL!
But we gotta STOP THIS TEAM first!
AGAIN we fail to stop them!

I am really hating this. we shoulda LONG since put this one away.
And we give up a 2-pointer.
Now we gotta go score AGAIN!!!
Because at least today, for now OUR DEFENSE IS FOR SHIT!!!

Rebels/ Land Sharks within 15 points. Gators need to wake up from that nap. 3CB0BBE2-DF41-4033-95D7-3E4A221CE48A.jpeg

Um, time to stop fiddling around with field goals, Dan and Kyle; Need SEVEN—preferably after a running drive—but at THIS point the main thing is another full-onMAJOR SCORE!!!

Just wanna get ad KEEP this clock running...I am surprised that Mullens has left the door open a crack.
And we are SAVED BY THE DUMBASS PENALTY...

Well, we finally have a Gator-style offense once more!
And they will get better. They’re already better thaI thought they were. If the defense improves as much as I THINK it will, we will be a FORCE—now and for some seasons-to-come!
I don’t wanna get ahead of myself, but I think maybe “SKY’S THE LIMIT” for the rest of THIS schedule just to START WITH. And get used to Kyle Trask being spoken of as a Heisman candidate.
Having said all that—our D never DID get untracked, Grantham’s squad NEVER HAS “PROPERLY ADJUSTED” to the inventive Kiffen-led Ol’ Miss offense.
ANOTHER missed tackle in the open field. This defense has a LOT of work to do. We will win this game—but at the moment it’s ALL about stopping THIS Rebel drive.

The Gators just need to work on onside kick coverage. 413D9499-17F3-49A7-B7C4-E4BC7E1BC33A.jpeg

ANOTHER SERIES of missed tackles, then what I THINK was a bad call...yes, they set it outside the one...but NOW we miss the onside kick, and they get it back!
This has been the most unsatisfying “Big Win” I can remember. And we STILL haven’t stopped them. I JUST WANT IT TO BE OVER.

That was a historic victory by the Gators! Trask recorded a passer rating of 210!

Finally. I am worn out—way I USUALLY feel after a close LOSS against a top team...Weird.
I thought I’d be happy to watch other games long as we won THAT one—but turns out I’m just tired, and got a HEADACHE, to BOOT!
To HELL WITH LANE KIFFEN, to hell with that “Covid summer” of non-preparation, and to hell with whatever was and IS ailing our Defense!!!
I don’t know what we really learned and/or DIDN’T learn today in this one...guess we’l still have to wait, at the very LEAST til NEXT time before we see what we’ve REALLY got!

Also, they allowed them to go 9/14 on third downs. That needs to change. The Good news is Georgia didn't wake up until the second half, A&M barely beat Vandy, and UK and SC lost.
