Grind-Out Time...One more first down, maybe even a score...I'm TELLING YOU, we are CLOSE here...
Hear that? The silence? Do y'all FEEL it, Gators? We are now semi-officially "ONE FIRST DOWN" from putting this away. What a performance from this WHOLE Gator team...REMEMBER when I asked if they could do this? They DID.

I hope FSU doesn't score any points here though to keep the distance at 17, for UF's style points so that Oregon doesn't jump us if it comes to that

Where are the rest of "our gang" here mg--DID Y'ALL BAIL EARLY LIKE I FELT LIKE DOING THERE, GUYS? Hope not, 'cause THIS was truly inspired: WE had EVERYTHING TURN AGAINST US--on the road, losing the lead so suddenly and looking confused there midway thru' the 3rd, then pulling it together and just GETTING IT DONE. I COULDN"T BE more proud of this team, right now. Give the offense, Pease and COACH BOOM their PROPS! Purifoy and Elam, too. 37 points when we NEEDED them.
Now just stop fartin' around here at the end and END this thing...they are not gonna BEAT us now, but let's look like we know what we're doing here at the end...

I'm glad Gilly had an awesome last game and finally hit the 1000 yard mark, Brown looks like he will transition well into a starting role. Glad Driskel was able to put together one of our few offense performances this year, and our Defense stepped up as always with some big plays. I'm not even going to focus attention on the BCS NCG scenario tonight in LA, just looking extremely satisfied with this years performance by our team learning a new system when nobody thought we would even be this good. Lots to look forward to next year, thats for sure. Hope Florida teams gets a good few weeks of rest and good practice, 11-1 is my new favorite number. Now I'm going back to being sick lol. I'll see you guys in a few days to talk recruiting and our bowl game, whichever it might be. Go Gators

As the game ended, the announcers on ABC were already lobbying AGAINST the Gators and their shot at an all-SEC Nat'l Championship already...I'd argue the point here except I KNOW I'd be "preaching to the choir"--IT just is FRUSTRATING hearing them raise that "won't play in their Conference Championship so don't deserve to play for a NATIONAL one" argument when there are SO many reasons why that doesn't apply here...and BTW: with 37 points against "The #1 Defense In The Country" that pretty well KILLS the "not-enough offense" argument--and I'll say THIS about the "eye-test": With our OFFENSE operating at THAT level to go with the TRUE "Best Defense in the Nation" AND our special teams doing THEIR job when we needed SOMETHING from SOMEWHERE, (that run back by Robisson on the return is what began our "come back"), with ALL those elements I think we are AS GOOD AS ANYONE--possibly THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND. No sh*t.
That play plus the hit on Manuel that got us the ball back after our first FG coming back to get US back the lead with GILLY'S FINE TD run (gotta hope the next 5 weeks-or-so is enough for that rib to heal--frigin' Criminoles...) settled us back down and let us re-establish the superiority we'd established and proven to OURSELVES in the 1st half...Oh, and one more "kudo"--to our very own Jeff Drislel, who was still more sore on that ankle than he let on at the start and was limited, maybe operating at 75% really, but he sucked it up, managed to get JUST enough done with his gimpy legs to help us there AND keep the FSU defense guessing and worried--and most of all, we started to see what this kid can do with the ball in a cleverly-designed PASSING game: Can you imagine what he'll do with a healthy and deeper O-line, and 2 or 3 more playmaker-WRs?
Finally, we pulled off this on-the-road and against an officiating-crew who called just an ATROCIOUS "homers" game there in the 2nd half--they did EVERYTHING during that "avalanche" in the 3rd quarter...They must have been disgusted with the Criminoles' failure to hold the lead they'd helped to hand them, but knew they'd "done THEIR job", and that the NCAA-powers-that-be could have NO COMPLAINTS with THEIR "performance".
This sort of thing will cost us big time in seasons ahead unless we can somehow make our peace with them all somehow: Given our "anti-hero"-status inside AND outside the SEC, and our Head Coach's fiery demeanor AND "Gator-first"-attitude, I figure the ONLY way they "call off the dogs" on us is MAYBE once we win a couple of SEC championships in-a-row and being the SEC-"rep" (getting the SEC-officials more behind us, albeit probably "grudgingly"), then going out and winning the Nat'l Championship (I'd love to see us being a part of history, and it IS within our reach, I think) by getting into and taking the LAST "BCS 'PLUS ONE' Champioship", and the FIRST "4-Team 'PLAY -OFF'-Produced National Championship", perhaps they'll at LEAST not all work so OBVIOUSLY and PUBLICLY against us anymore...or am I just DREAMING here?
OK--now all of us pretty well HAVE to root for KIFFY-KIN'S team, I guess..Never thought it would come to THAT--but I am SUCH a LONG-TIME "Notre Dame Despiser" that this won't be that hard at ALL...Kiffy OWES us some "love" (or at least some help) a by now--anyway, it was The Liar, now a committed-"F*ckeye", who he REALLY rubbed the wrong way, and I could look at that now as a virtue, not a vice!

That is why I muted the game on TV and listened to WRUF. There was a slight delay, but at least I did not have to listen to the ABC announcers.

Great win, great fight back, great night. GO TROJANS CHOMP CHOMP
"Great Fight Back" is RIGHT...and on top of everything ELSE, our younger guys, the replacements who had to come in for injured STARS, stepped UP in there tonight: We are looking good-for-the-future INDEED. Morrison isn't IN there if Jenkins doesn't get banged up, and he makes the TURN-AROUND play on defense to knock-OUT EJ Manuel and at the same time forced the fumble DEEP that set us up for our clinching score--on a nice POWER run by Matt Jones, who wouldn't HIMSELF likely have been in there had Gilly not hurt a rib in that dirty helmet-first spear (uncalled, of course, tho' RIGHT in front of the umpire--disgusting!)...Jones has really started to come on, showing a real smooth-but relentless running style that has him showing subtle moves and real timing in the way he sets-up-his-blocks...I WAS worried about Taylor having to step in AND step -up right away, and now I'm starting to think that with Joyer (who had a quiet-but-brilliant game as a backfield-blocker tonight) in the backfield with Jones to start the season we may be better-than-OK at RB, bringing Taylor in and along in the right way, as he "GETS it" back there (if Brown picks it up TOO, all the better, but we are already looking good on offense in 2013--and our "D" will be "Lights Out" again TOO)...We're gonna have depth all OVER the place more and more the next couple of seasons, and you can see how THIS year just in a couple of places what a difference THAT can make.

Yeah--but that "delay" started to GET to me...I had them BOTH turned up and switching back and forth, "a/b" with the "-20db" button on my Bose "Lifestyle 500" (GREAT system for movies, btw--completely UPGRADES your movie-watching experience, ANY of those "small box"-systems Bose offers in that series) so I could hear both and could dim one/boost-the-other easy-quick...
Sadly, though SC(west) keeps getting them to 3rd-and-longs, Notre Dame keeps converting them--right down the field and THIS time into the endzone for a TD...10-0: And I really doubt that these "Prophilactics" can win an offensive Shoot-Out--"offensive" in the TRUE sense of the word, on BOTH sides of the ball, in this of ALL games. The "lamb Skins" better get some "O" going soon (and there was a SMART interference by the Notre Dame defender to stop a sure TD long--I have ALWAYS hated that 15-yard-maximum call...at LEAST make it "at the spot OR 15 yds--whichever is longer"), but SC is driving now, at least, and taking it down QUICKLY on the Irish here.

I WAS gonna open up a new thread for following the "Big One"in the Coliseum--maybe call it something like "Rooting for Kiffy's 'Ribbed For Comfort's"--but superstition dictated that we won HERE, and they are staying CLOSE at LEAST to the Irish here, but the young QB, though he HAD been doing fairly well, has nade some mistakes these last couple of possessions to give away momentum AND the ball...and now Notre Dame, after converting on a couple of 4th down risks to keep the ball after intercepting it, are within FG-range to end this half. The Irish "get lucky AGAIN" and get a shot at a FG they didn't deserve here, with LESS than 1 sec. left...Their QB looks like he twisted his ankle badly there--KARMA! But he kicks a long one to end the half ANYWAY...SIX PT. SWING there, which is EXACTLY their lead now...and are you listening to the studio-guys FAWNING over Notre Dame here now? You know, I am SICK of Jessie Palmer's suck-hole efforts to get himself "accepted" by all the "National Market Guys" even though he's a Gator...With apologies to FrozenGator, (I KNOW he was, like, a Canadian prep-legend, who Spurrier brought in and made one of his "QB-tandems" Jessie's Junior and Senior years with us--the better THROWER of he and Doug Johnson--and I though the better field-general too), but OTHER ex-college-player-announcers don't BURY-Their-Backgrounds as Jessie does (or even their BIAS--check out "Michigan-Desmond", not to mention over-the-TOP old guys like Lee Corso and Lou Holtz, for God's sake!) as the apparently too-ambitious-for-his-own-good, "young-and-too-handsome?" ABC/ESPN College Football announcer (you think the by now aging-but-has-periodic-facelifts Brent Musberger--no joke OR understatement THERE--isn't already too jealous to let him "into the club" anytime soon?). I have finally had ENOUGH! If he won't EMBRACE his Gator-nature and wear it ON-HIS-SLEEVE, with PRIDE, then maybe it is time for US to abandon HIM as well--and then he will have NEITHER...And the day is coming when THAT affiliation is likely to be something to be PROUD of--and he'll just look like a PHONY coming back for it THEN...
Well, here's the 2nd half, USC down 6 and with the ball first.

ANOTHER bad INT from Wittaker...Oh yeah, "Just a BRILLIANT play..." right TO him BEHIND the receiver...I mean, this Irish defense IS opportunistic, a pretty good squad, but in the SEC they've got at least 2 losses even WITH their "luck" and defense...Here's another FG , their 4th--but he MISSES, so they MIGHT still be IN it after all...Let's put it like this: "Small-to-Medium"s AREN'T out of this YET...(but it might take some Viagra to see them "rise" to the occasion here)

This SC offense looks a lot like OURS with their porous O-line and young QB...the difference is that with their healthier-but-less-experienced parts, it works out to about the same thing as when WE are having difficulties
...OUCH--thy have GOT to get that 1st down on 3rd and a foot...NOW they punt, for want of a FOOT on 3rd down. All I can say is, this SC-team better get on "Travelor" if they wanna have a shot before time runs out...I can FEEL our last chance at a SHOT just draining away here...

(Of all the years for USC not to be UP for this game...they just are getting MAN-Handled at the point-of-attack--and NOW they just can't TACKLE the Notre Dame runners...pathetic--for 36 YARDS on a DIVE play! There's 56 more on a BROKEN off-tackle play...and they are about to score and put this away--'cause if SC doesn't adjust and stop them NOW, it'll be over here...)
