College football is weird. Look at the teams that lost:

‣ #2 Miami (L) - Mario Cristobal has beaten Billy Napier twice head-to-head but has fallen short of what should be an easy path to ACC championships and CFP berths.
‣ #5 Ole Miss (L) - Lane Kiffin had Jimmy Sexton with him at the game, ready to negotiate a fat contract if he could beat Kirby Smart.
‣ #7 Texas Tech (L)
‣ #10 LSU (L) - Brian Kelly might be in the hot seat over this one.
‣ #11 Tennessee (L)
‣ #20 USC (L) - Lincoln Riley’s stock keeps dropping.
‣ #22 Memphis (L)
‣ #23 Utah (L)
‣ #25 Nebraska (L) - Matt Rhule’s stock keeps dropping.

...How can it NOT now be trending towards "a newer, better, WIDER RANGE OF WILD previously UNFORESEEN such "CHOICES"??!
I THINK that it has indeed HAPPENED--"Stringy Quantum FIELD Theory", the split screen/one beam experiment would seem to DEMAND its having been run at some point in here, no matter what , thus setting whole silly tangled mess in theoretical motion to START WITH--eventually leading to these exact kinds of silly arguments that folks like my dad-in-law enjoy engaging in for the mutual kick of convincing "ALL US SMART FOLKS to now ACCEPT AND THINK THE SAME WAY", SHARE CERTAIN ASSUMPTIONS bout how the universe really WORKS?
Anyway: "TIME HAS COME TODAY!"
That old Chambers Brothers song from the 60s, "Time", with Billy FINALLY, appropriately being fired this fine Sunday afternoon, after another "Billy-Special"--another WIN that felt frustratingly like a LOSS, left us all united somehow in both relief and aggravation AT THE SAME TIME--only THIS time we get to actually properly MOVE ON.
So, here it is--The Future.
Now we get ANOTHER chance to see what we can DO with it!
And, at least based on his own statement in announcing these "imminent changes", Sticklin HIMSELF specifically and categorically INSISTS that "WE are committed to going ALL IN this time"--that hope and process alone are NOT ENOUGH now...That nothing less than CHAMPIONSHIPS must be the sole aim at Florida.
AMEN. An appropriate response in this important Sunday in future Gator lore, I feel.

Billy is coaching the Georgia game isn't he? Didn't watch the game, I was at a music festival.

In retrospect, you TOTALLY made the right (if somewhat obviously BETTER) choice in how you spent your Fall Saturday, LF.
Yikes, in doing so you dodged a bullet of a frustrating "Billy Bitchfest" this time.
But NOW, as of around 1pm Eastern Sunday, October 19 2025, Coaching in Jacksonville against UGA in a coupla weeks will NOT be Billy Napier but rather the named INTERIM COACH, one Billy Gonzales.
And NOW we turn to the crucial discussion of who we now ultimately install in that more permanent version of the same role?
