The Gators looked sharp against a weak opponent, but I am pleased given the state of offense in Gainesville since Tebow left five years ago.

Speaking of Tebow, there is still little separation between our two quarterbacks, even when compared against the rest of the country or the conference.

SEC passer rating and ESPN QBR
  1. B. Allen Arkansas 294.84 99.0
  2. W. Grier Florida 208.09 95.0
  3. T. Harris Florida 203.47 92.9
  4. J. Dobbs Tennessee 176.45 82.3
  5. J. Coker Alabama 172.34 66.1
  6. M. Mauk Missouri 144.57 35.5
  7. K. Allen Texas A&M 139.35 53.1
  8. P. Towles Kentucky 133.80 58.1
  9. D. Prescott Mississippi State 127.66 79.2
  10. J. McCrary Vanderbilt 104.50 35.4
  11. C. Mitch South Carolina 102.49 62.0
  12. J Johnson Auburn 94.32 54.8
Notable QBs:
  • Jacoby Brissett NCST 79.0
  • Everett Golson FSU 71.4
  • Jeff Driskel LAT 98.9
  • Blake Kemp ECU 55.1
I threw in Driskel and Brissett, because they will always be Gators to me. It also helps us understand how good Harris and Grier are when compared to their direct predecessors when those guys have a real offense. Also note that QBR ranking can vary from passer ranking, because QBR also factors in rushing and situation.
