We are now condemned to at least a WEEK of absurd OVER-reactive hype surrounding Deion, Shadeur and the Colorado Buffaloes' defeat of TCU. It was hardly "Game of the Century" (not even "Game of the WEEK", really--MAYBE "Upset of the Day", and probably shouldn't have been THAT in the first place!).
At least it pushes the OTHER "over-reaction", the "Billy getting FIRED" headlines off the front page for a while.
Geez, I am already tired of these overpaid loud mouthes telling us what to think.
They don't get ANYTHING right.
I just want to see our Reptiles come together and hunker down as a TEAM WITH A PURPOSE.
THAT would be the proper response to all that has happened to, against and around them to begin this actual SEASON--So much hard work in advance and they find nothing but adversity, "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" as they finally face the opening contest, a long and trying road trip in this much anticipated 2023 season.
Hard as GETTING there was, the return trip was apparently even longer and MORE challenging.
Weather-delayed and detoured in BOTH directions, they finally returned to G-ville a full day late.
Maybe all this brings them closer together as a TEAM. That's the hope, of course--at a time when they need every advantage and personal inner- readjustment they can manage.
Again: These are KIDS. HOW they internalize adversity and find ways to GROW from it will depend to a great extent on what they see/hear/feel from their leaders and those around them. So MUCH is now riding on those very impressions.

Other notable scores:
- Former Gator Emory Jones throws for 345 and 5 TD in a Cincinnati 66-13 victory over Eastern Kentucky.
- One-time Gator commit Jaden Rashada throws for 245 and 2 TD in an Arizona State victory over Southern Utah.

We have a new contender for #1 on the football misery index! Clemson was the highest ranked team to lose to unranked team in a long time. This was the worst top-10 ranked Clemson loss to an unranked team since Steve Spurrier’s unranked Duke team beat #7 Clemson in 1989, 21-17!

This sort of "took the edge off" ( not that much, but maybe the worst of it) from our own "misery" post-Week 1.
Clemson had publicly seemed to have shed most of the above baggage, its place in CFB lore as the classic "Consistent Disappointer" to its fans.
Now this. And it's DUKE again!
