Once again, enjoy the genius of LSUFreek:

The lyrics:

"Come and listen to my story 'bout a coach named Lane
The poor Volunteer was really glad his daddy came
And then one day, he was shootin' off his mouth
And out came the news, Ole Petey had run out

Carroll that is. From the Trojans. USC.

Well, the first thing you know when Lane became aware
The kin folk said "Lane, move away from there."
Said "Californy is the place you oughtta be!"
So they left a Vol pup,
And they moved to USC."

Kiffin: No one asked Tennessee for money to recruit Newton

USC coach Lane Kiffin says no one asked Tennessee for any money when he and the Vols were recruiting Cameron Newton.
Kiffin tells the Los Angeles Times, “We didn’t offer him a scholarship, which doesn’t make me look very smart, but we did talk to him. We just went in a different direction.”
When asked whether the Newton family or anyone claiming to represent them ever said Tennessee would have to pay money to sign Newton, Kiffin simply said “No.”
Kiffin said the SEC is a breeding ground for rumors and false accusations.
"I remember so many things said about me that weren't accurate," Kiffin said. "It was a good lesson learned. If something comes on the radio or in print, I don't think there are any facts to it at all until someone shows some proof. This is a perfect example."
Last week, reports emerged saying an anonymous source claimed Mississippi State was asked to pay $180,000 up front if the school wanted to recruit Newton. Later in the week, Newton was accused of cheating academically at Florida. Newton and Gene Chizik have denied the accusations.

This from a man who, in addition to all the other darkness, chaos, lying and sleaze he has wrought elsewhere, was CERTAINLY part of the whole corruption machine that led to the Reggie Bush fiasco and USC's current well-deserved sanctions. Yes, Lame is the FIRST person to have out in front to lead the Newton's self-righteous publicity crusade.

Lane Kiffin's grievance denied

Lane Kiffin's two-year-old grievance seeking unpaid salary he felt he was owed after being fired by the Oakland Raiders was denied by an NFL arbitrator Monday.
The Raiders' countergrievance for lawyer and arbitration fees was also denied, the source said.

Raiders executive John Herrera issued a statement to The Associated Press on Monday stating the ruling was an overwhelming victory for the Raiders.
In the statement, Herrera said the league stated that Kiffin showed "a stunning lack of concern" for the terms of his contract and for the rules of the club.
Kiffin's grievance was filed through the NFL Coaches Association. He had been seeking about $2.6 million when the grievance was initially filed. But that was reduced to a demand for $333,000 after accounting for a salary offset from his previous job as coach for the Tennessee Volunteers, the source said.

Kiffin was hired before this season to coach the USC Trojans after one season at Tennessee.
Raiders owner Al Davis fired Kiffin on Sept. 30, 2008, after the Raiders' fourth game of the season "for cause."
The Raiders were 1-3 under Kiffin that season. He was 5-15 overall.
The source said that because it was such an unusual case, the ruling shouldn't raise concern among the league's coaches.
Davis claimed Kiffin made comments against the organization, which he considered a violation of his three-year, $6 million contract. Most NFL coaching contracts are guaranteed.
