University of Florida recent senior Stacey Nelson earned a spot on two USA Softball Women’s National teams for the 2009 summer, the Amateur Softball Association of American announced on Monday.
Nelson, who finished her career at Florida with 136 wins, will compete on the national team in July. The team will travel to Surrey, British Columbia, for the Canada Cup from July 3-12 and then to Oklahoma City, Okla., for the World Cup, July 13-20.
The pitcher was also named to the 2009 USA Softball Japan Cup team that will compete at the Japan Cup in Sendai, Japan from July 31 to Aug. 2.
