Official Game Thread Week 1: Florida Gators vs #8 Utah Utes 9/3/2022

Plenty of time. In a way, probably TOO much of it. We'll see: First we have to get it done once again. Then it'll depend on how long THAT takes, assuming we can get it done in the FIRST place.
No matter what, our young, still growimg and learning team and program has fought the no.7 team to a 1-score, back-and-forth game in the 4th quarter. We are NOT yet a "Championship" team...but all the signs show that we are headed in the right direction. BIG moment for Anthony and this offense.
OMG Etienne almost breaks it, then FUMBLES. gets it back with a first down.
Now 4th and 2--and this is IT:
The game is now on the line with just over 2 minutes left. Either they make the first, then go down and take the lead late--or this one's over right here, right now.
Time out.

Win or lose moment coming here.

Now it all comes down to scoring with as little time left as possible. LOOKS very much like, with their times out, we may score to take the 3-point lead with over a minute left. Cannot WORRY about burning the clock down more now:
Just gotta get the lead and somehow STOP them on defense!

Richardson came through. Now the defense must hold for 1:25 and 2 Utah timeouts.

OK. Up 3 points with 1:25 left.
Up to this defense to grow up some right here and now.
Whatever happens, give our QB and offense credit for getting us here.

Had them stopped, But he escapes contain and runs it inside the 20.
Looks like they'll at least get a chip shot FG.
They just gave them an extra time out.
AGAIN they are handed a gift!
Now they have a chance to WIN this here!

I'm here, I don't watch and type usually. Maybe at halftime once in a while. Man, that was close. Maybe too close but a win is a win. Richardson was good, could be better missed a few open receivers. Still worried about the defense. The Utes tore them up.

Wow. Hardly "perfect"...certainly no "Masterpiece"...But give them credit:
This is a resilient team that will only grow, get BETTER from here.
I'll leave post mortems til later--and let the various "prognosticators" weigh in first.
For now, it's enough to bask in "sudden victory", is it not? I look forward to your comments later, gentlemen; for now, let's mostly just ENJOY this one!
