Sigh. Gators can afford to lose this game, but they are capable of winning it

4:15 on the clock. Gators need to manage this clock and not turn the ball over. Aggies tipped the ball thrown into a tight space.

Fumbled by the Gators with one time out. Aggies will milk this clock and win it.

Yup. Game about to be over.
We had a good chance despite everything—until that fumble.
This was a hard one to take.

That’s a wrap. The Gator defense was absolutely horrible. View attachment 536
I don’t think I can WATCH this team.
I don’t mind being offense-dominant, but to be TOTALLY DEVOID OF DEFENSE is insufferable.
That was the most frustratingly disappointing performance in a Gator loss since the loss to the Tide in the SEC Championship (Tebow’s last game).
The consistently inadequate defense, plus the WAY we lost it, with a chance to win but “snatching defeat from the jaws of victory...I was afraid of something like this—and the reality was in fact SO much WORSE!
I think what we saw today was “the REAL Gators”—and I really don’t think I can stomach that sort of thing a second and third time and more! I sure as hell can’t watch or listen to the bullsh*t college football commentary rest of this season—It just isn’t gonna change, so now there’s a big hole where our only anticipated “joy and relief” was hopefully pencilled in for Fall/Winter 2020/2021.

Well time to fire grantham. He sucked at Georgia and Louisville. The trend on social media is true, what a waste of a great offense. Cmon on back dan Quinn or will muschamp, we need a good defensive coordinator.

Could we get Charlie to come back?
As D-coordinator?
It’s an interesting thought; I wonder.
How would Coach Dan feel about the idea, to start with? And would Charlie be willing, at this point?
Maybe if the money was right: It would have to be fat, SEC “near-Head Coach”-money, right? Relatively long term and “guaranteed”, I’d imagine (probably with a bonus “goose” to Mullens’ contract as well)...
But those are mere “details”.
Would the chemistry be right? That would be the main thing, let’s face it.
I mean, in addition to knowledge and adaptability, how all the complex interplay of “moving parts” work together through time and space allow us to continue to grow and evolve would be the key to ANY future success from here, no matter what.
That’s the first potentially “viable alternative”—a surprisingly high-profile and seemingly (on first blush anyway) fitting one that (depending on the true nature of Mullens and Strong’s ongoing relationship) might just work. I just don’t KNOW.
