WE ARE BLOWING THIS GAME.
We were in control, but anemic offense killed us. Why are we afraid to throw it downfield? If we can't count on Filipe as a passer, give us Emory Jones NOW. I mean it. I don't think they have confidence in Filipe.

So: Instead of being up nicely, and in control, we are in a grinder--amd look shaky to say the least.
Either they unleash the passing game NOW, and Filipe shows they shoulda done that after that last punt, or I will be ready to forcast the dreaded "up and down year" and "eventual transition to Emory Jones at QB-1".
Damn! As it is, we have stumbled, bumbled and FUMBLED away what had started to LOOK like that supposed "Top Ten Gator Ranking" coming in.

Well it's like every bit of the air has been let out of us. This is not the team we need to let hang around.

This has been some weird play calling. And Franks has looked pretty weak back there. I have NO confidence in this Gator squad, in its present state. Either the D finds a way to turn this around IN SPITE OF ALL THE CONFUSION on offense, or we will go down badly here this evening.
It has been one of the strangest games I've witnessed so far, too: The Gators really did appear to be on their way to taking over, then they started fumbling--and the play calling has really been for SHIT!

Sad. The Canes have themselves been making all kinds of mistakes, but we still cannot stop them when it counts.
I think we are gonna lose this one, brothers...The Canes are starting to come on now, and we are looking horrible on offense: I don't think we can throw the ball. Franks has returned to his freshman form inside his head, so LOOK OUT!

I know it won't happen here unless Franks gets injured--but I'm truly starting to think the time is coming, and SOON.
Unfortunately, Mullens won't do it until a couple of poor performances produce actual losses...But the first of those may well be on its way here tonight, THANKS to Franks' poor play.
They are driving on us now. We had them on their heels--but we have HANDED them the momentum in this one. We let them get ahead now, I don't think we have the moxy to come back. Those 2 fumbles put us in this hole--but our lack of poise and apparent character, plus all of Filipe's regressions, have us in DEEP TROUBLE.

PATHETIC. We are giving up just before the half. I am so disgusted now.
3 missed tackles with the game in the balance.

We just keep missing tackles now. I don't know, friends. I'm not sure I even wanna watch the 2nd half. I think we have shown we are LESS than we were last season--and Filipe Franks is showing that last year was his high water mark.
And they get a lucky bounce for a TD.
We are screwed: Gave up a 90 yard drive to end the first half--and did it with at least a dozen missed tackles.

True story: I am in Georgia right now visiting my daughter who just had a stroke. I might have one myself with this game.

Our guy was kneeling on and OVER THE BALL CRADLED IN HIS GUT! "Not long enough" was the commentators' explanation, but it shoulda been sent upstairs, for sure.
But we've found all kinds of ways to get behind in this one. A thorough midgame Gator collapse. If we somehow come back and win this one, it will be an unexpected miracle...
...and Franks proceeds to mismanage play one more time to kill whatever chance we had to steal a few points back at the end.
Franks and the rest of this team have somehow reverted to the level of play they showed during LAST season's mid-schedule slump against UGA and Mizzou--and against MUCH more questionable competition. If this is the best we can manage against a young and inexperienced Miami squad, well, we can kiss those "high expectations" for this year goodbye--and maybe beyond, if they don't turn their attention to a whole lot of changes over the course of this season in order to be ready for NEXT year.
Now, it IS only 13-7. If we can forget all the foolish errors, suck it up, and show not just "the world" but OURSELVES that we are in fact the team glimpsed for a few moments after their first possession, when we took control and appeared to be driving for a 2 score lead before FALLING APART ENTIRELY, we MIGHT still come back here and win this one, regain our balance and PERHAPS put the worst behind us--take it as a warning and a "learning experience" and at least carry on, going forward still with a chance to realize all our hopes and dreams.
It's just that since that first giveaway, there has been NO SIGN that we have that within us after all. And we are now playing a team that is certain it can beat us. I don't know, Gators. NOTHING I have seen SINCE that giveaway gives me cause to expect anything BUT a bad loss.
CAN we "flip the switch"? Who will be the spark? Filipe? Can he even GET it to one of the guys who might?
Frankly, I am now dreading a long, frustrating ordeal of a half marked by failures and miscues. The main question I find myself considering is, "At what point will I have had enough of such an ordeal before I say 'ENOUGH!!!' and turn it off?
I was already pretty damn close by the end of that FIRST half.

Even we're driving now, I feel littoe sense of confidence or certainty. You coukd FEEL AND SEE the snarled confusion oyt there last play: They have a first down inside the opponents' 40, all the click they should need, and yet they are standing out there frozen and baffled before even trying to form up to run a play! Time out saves them--but DAMN!
