Man, you know things are bad when two players because of that loss.

You know, while I normally have little in the way of sympathy or even interest in Tennessee save the usual scouting reports and general outlook the week we play them vis a vis what it'll take to wreck their world, can't say I think a whole lot of players who bail on the program they chose soon as things go bad. I mean, I suppose there is a limit to "how wrong" a young man can limit to having been before he must draw a line, move on--but even then, it just seems that this is symptomatic of how far the whole process (the cameras on NSD, the hats arranged in front of them, the fake outs etc etc ad infinitum) has sunk into hucksterism and egotistical irrelevance--and now the easy-swinging, well-oiled gates opening to give them all the chance to UNdo a big choice too easily jumped to in the first place--to do anything but cast a pessimistic eye on the character of the typical young "star athletes" running hither and yon in thoughtless, MINDLESS pursuit of money, fame and media attention. When did "getting better and better at The Game" take such a distant back seat to all the rest? Let alone becoming a leader, at the very least an important part of a good TEAM?Sucks to be Tennessee.
Yeah, there's THAT--And I can't deny the satisfaction I naturally get in hearing this news, and in general at seeing the arrogant bastards laid low... But I am ALSO trying to recall and rely more upon "the angels of our better nature" here: In the long run, it isn't Volunteer (or anyone ELSE'S) poor fortune and unfortunate practical development over all that will get US where WE wanna go; it will be OUR hard work and belief in OURSELVES that will ultimately accomplish that. I'm no saint--I too will likely go on getting a certain kick out of these rivals' misfortunes...but I'd like to think we're aiming higher, too.
Can't argue with anything you say here--Hell, I find myself often muttering, sometimes YELLING back at the screen (laptop AND television) on a daily basis at the asinine bs spewing forth from fans and media commentators alike! They don't like us and miss no opportunity to grind their axes at our benefit. So when it comes down TO it, whatever befalls them and THEIRS, whether poor luck or poor judgement, "GOOD ON 'EM!!!"Maybe we should but I'm sure they were people taking shots at the Gators when during the Meyer's days where those were great times (minus 2010). Plus the offseason was rough with players getting kicked out.
LOL Maybe I'd shift the above ORDER around a bit, but yeah: That about says it...They are rivals. With UGA, UT, FSU, and Miami I hope they lose the following:
If they get erectile dysfunction and a case of spontaneous diarrhea, then so be it.
- The game
- Their shoes
- Their money
- Their wives
- Their girlfriends
- Their dogs
- Their beer money
- Their sanity
Marshall shows one example of why Florida, FSU, and Miami are having problems with recruiting. Schools like Marshall have been poaching some of the best Sunshine State talent. Marshall has 23 kids from the Sunshine State. In West Virginia. Not just any 23, but the ones from winning Florida high schools. The ones who do not get arrested for marijuana, credit card fraud, and domestic assault. They might not be quite as fast, but they are in that sweet spot between good in talent and good in behavior.

...All true--But STILL:It's Florida, almost every program recruits here.
