Ranking Opposing Quarterbacks in 2025

There is certainly plenty of hype around Gator QB DJ Lagway, but how does he compare against the other QBs that he will face in 2025? Lagway is statistically equal to or better than the following opposing QBs:

Week 1, Ethan Greenwood (Long Island)
Week 2: Byrum Brown (USF)
Week 3: Garrett Nussmeier (LSU)
...
Week 6: Marcel Reed (Texas A&M)
...
Week 8: Gunner Stockton (Georgia)
Week 9: Zach Calzada (Kentucky)
...
Week 11: Joey Aguilar (Tennessee)
Week 12: Thomas Castellanos (FSU)

The following QBs are better established and more highly rated, or have shown tremendous upside in limited playing time:

Week 4: Carson Beck (Miami)
Week 5: Arch Manning (Texas)
...
Week 7: Blake Shapen (Mississippi State)
...
Week 10: Austin Simmons (Ole Miss)

The good news is that week 7's QB might be statistically better, but the team around him is not projected to be very good. Week 10's QB should be familiar. Austin Simmons was a Florida commit until Lane Kiffen convinced him to move up a class and flip to Ole Miss. Simmons' profile is nearly identical to DJ Lagway's, except Lagway has more playing time to lower his stats.

Thanks for the FACTS, the STATISTICAL lowdown, E--. But as you repeatedly hint at, there are also "Statistically EXPLAINED" reasons for some of these "higher ratings". In other cases I simply do not TRUST what in the end I believe are somewhat subjectively adjustable analyses of what are limited data pools for these young players to start with...There is mainly "little to NO" experience or performance at this level upon which to base much in the way of accurate extrapolation.
It's still a matter of "Wait'n'see", and for us that goes DOUBLE, for a LOT of reasons.
I am STILL for ignoring "the noise" as best we can for now, try to be patient as the calendar pages begin to flip by faster and faster now. Camps open soon (our "Week 0" game is less than 2 months off!) and in the meantime Finebaum and all the rest are welcome to collectively kiss our BUTTS!

(PS And yes, while I am currently (if anything) enjoying a summer of sun, water and music here in Austin and consciously in no real rush to see the weeks rush by--I'm old enough to at least TRY to savor the "NOW"--I cannot deny that I am ALSO somewhat CHOMPING at the bit (pun intentional) more and more each day to actually "SEE what we GOT!")

Off topic: Were you affected by the flooding? I am 40 miles from the Guadalupe.

Off topic: Were you affected by the flooding? I am 40 miles from the Guadalupe.
The general "stormy weather" and resulting flood-warnings (not to mention actual events) repeatedly affected my plans (and some long-scheduled activities) in a number of ways--but of course that's NOTHING relative to the travails just south of us, down in and around San Marcos and the Guadalupe River (among other areas of Central and South Central Texas). What happened at Camp Mystic was the height of tragedy.
I have a number of musician friends with land down that way whom I'm still getting back in touch with and hearing their stories--so far none themselves have had anything unrecoverable happen to them or loved ones save for property damage.
You and yours alright? Already BEEN a tough year for you, practically AND emotionally BEFORE all this, I know.
Has had its wild and extreme ups and downs for all of us, to some extent so far this year. This isn't the place to really get into it, but as a fellow "current citizen of The Lonestar State" you are no doubt as aware as I am of how many of our neighbors (regardless of previous political stance) share a general unhappiness with FEMA's cut backs--and resulting relatively weak response here at this very time of need.
Anyway, hope you (and those close) are OK.
If there's a lesson, it is in the reminder that "disaster" can come without warning at anytime, anywhere--and in the final analysis, in the event of an emergency of ANY kind it is among each other that we may well have to find generosity and mutual support.
