UAlbany (8-3, 7-0 NEC) earned a second consecutive trip to the annual game after another perfect run through NEC play, which culminated with a 30-11 home victory on November 15. The Great Danes learned they would face Jacksonville (9-3, 7-1 PFL) after the Dolphins locked up their first-ever Pioneer Football League crown by knocking off Dayton, 19-14, on November 22.
