John Brantley struggles in East-West Shrine Game

Florida Gator quarterback John Brantley struggled in the East-West Shrine Game as he completed 1 pass in 6 attempts for 21 yards. For comparison sake, Tennessee Chattanooga's BJ Coleman finished 10 of 15 for 168 yards and Southern Mississippi QB Austin Davis went 7 of 10 for 68 yards.

NFL scouts rank JB4 as the #24 QB in the upcoming draft. Scouts say he has a great delivery with nice spin, but needed a nice outing in this game to impress scouts.

Uh, doesn't this all sound familiar? From the "great delivery, nice ball" from the experts, to the failure to rise to the occasion at the "Big Moment", let's be blunt in our assessment: JB goes out as he came in, "lookin' good", just not "playin' good"...
...at a certain point, that pattern becomes fixed in EVERYONE'S minds. I suppose he can walk-on somewhere, and maybe he can catch on with a pro-practice squad, catch someone's eye eventually if he stays at it and "grows into" the position--in size AND consistency-of-demonstrable skills...but that's a ton of "IFs" at this point...he's pretty well run out of "Cinderella scenarios", at this point, wouldn't you say?
(There ARE other leagues, and if he REALLY wants to stay at it, find a way to extend his playing time and possibly, eventually, build a career, he MIGHT try working out for some of the CFL teams--but they have certain standards of their own, certain skill sets they are looking for--and until John Brantley actually shows up and blows someone's mind by showing MORE than is expected at that level, the outcome will remain the same.)
