The Florida Gators’ coaching staff under newly appointed head coach Jon Sumrall is being assembled with experienced assistants, many bringing proven track records from Power conferences and successful programs. This group resembles Marvel’s Avengers: a collection of specialized experts uniting under a strong leader to tackle formidable challenges and restore championship contention.

Head Coach: Jon Sumrall — Captain America (Steve Rogers): The principled leader who sets the vision, fosters team unity, and demands accountability. Sumrall, known for rapid program turnarounds and building cultures of toughness, serves as the strategic and moral centerpiece guiding the staff toward elite success in the SEC.

Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks Coach: Buster Faulkner — Iron Man (Tony Stark): The innovative genius driving the offense with cutting-edge schemes. Faulkner’s dynamic play-calling, honed during national championship runs at Georgia and a prolific stint at Georgia Tech (where he earned Offensive Coordinator of the Year honors), promises an explosive, high-scoring attack.

Defensive Coordinator: Brad White — Thor: The powerful force on defense with commanding presence and experience. White’s units at Kentucky consistently ranked among the SEC’s best, emphasizing disciplined, physical play; his NFL background and prior collaboration with Sumrall add thunderous strength to the Gators’ defensive rebuild.

Offensive Line Coach: Phil Trautwein — Hulk (Bruce Banner): The foundational powerhouse providing raw strength and protection. A former Gators All-SEC tackle who won two national titles as a player, Trautwein’s experience at Penn State equips him to build a dominant, smash-mouth line essential for SEC dominance.

Defensive Line Coach: Gerald Chatman — War Machine (James Rhodes): The heavily armored ally providing steadfast support and firepower on the front lines. As a retained specialist with prior ties to Sumrall and a proven track record in developing disruptive interior linemen, Chatman delivers continuity, physical dominance, and reliable execution in the trenches, much like Rhodes’ role as Iron Man’s trusted, battle-hardened counterpart..

Cornerbacks Coach: Brandon Harris — Hawkeye (Clint Barton): The sharp-eyed specialist locking down the secondary. A former standout player with coaching stops at multiple programs, Harris excels in pass defense coverage, providing pinpoint accuracy against elite receivers.

Safeties Coach: Chris Collins — Falcon / Captain America (Sam Wilson): The aerial tactician offering vigilance, speed, and leadership in the secondary.

I LIKE it!
I caught where you were going here the moment I saw the title—and you RAN with it.
So: We’re gonna need a new, over-the-top Strength & Conditioning guy…we don’t know who that will be yet, but maybe you can at least give him his proper place in the above “Avengers”-themed hierarchy?
