It's a little early, but it shows that they can turn it on in the 1st quarter. I don't know if they wore themselves out or if they just shifted into 3rd gear, but it's looks better than before. I am still worried about the lack of the vertical game--we missed on two wide open shots. Well, missed or hit the brick hands. Either one.

Yeah, we looked sharp in the 1st Qtr., good to see...but we "reverted" in the 2nd. As usual, defense kept us out of trouble--'til the officials stepped in to escort them down the field; even then we stopped them, and then BLEW it and let 'em have an easy one on that trick play! All in all, we are again seeing all the hallmarks of a young team, but one that IS improving game by game.
That fake kick/slippery non-substitution was on our coaches, though--you think that would have slipped by if Spikes was still out there? Just wondering...

Anyway, let;s see if they can own the 3rd like they did the 1st. If so, this will be a satisfying win.

We got caught with our pants down on that fake FG by Kentucky.

Adjustments will be made at the half; my big concern is with Carl Johnson - we can't afford to have any more injuries on our O-line heading into next week.

We get the ball back at he beginning of the half. If we can get back into a rhythm on offense, we can start to put this one away and give Urban win# 100.

Come on Gators, GET UP AND GO!

Wooww. Trey Burton putting up 6 tds. Unreal. He needs to throw for one.

This kid (Burton) is going to be a STAR. I really liked him even while he was still a recruit last year; his enthusiasm really caught my attention. Love his attitude as well.

All around great performance by the Gators today; they had some of the "old" difficulties in the 2nd qtr, but the staff adapted at the half and the team RESPONDED (something they do every game, it seems) in the 2nd half, even when they were thrown some curves.
As for Burton, what can I add? He already was the go-to guy in the redzone, running the Tebow-option to perfection. This was an eye-opening breakthrough though. If Hines doesn't stumble Trey has a long TD throw as well--so he comes up and runs it in instead!
Give Brantley credit too: he was sharp and steady all night.
Dubose looked good in the 1st qtr, then sort of disappeared. We've got so many playmakers! If one's not clicking, here's another--try and stop him!
This team has only just begun to tap its talent potential; if/when they get the O-line healthy and all the pieces integrated and functioning efficiently, they'll be practically unbeatable on BOTH sides of the ball.

Carl Moore is our best receiver. This kids wingspan is crazy. He catches everything Brantley throws to him, even when it is not the most accurate pass. He is a great possession receiver, so who is our deep threat? not Deonte Thompson. DT is also playing really well as a possession receiver, he has made some crazy catches on those short inside routes.

The D, mainly our d-backs, are really good against the pass. But I felt as though we gave up too many yards sometimes against the run. Bama is going to be a lot better in the running game, and I am worried they can have their way at he line of scrimmage.

Trey Burton is flawed. He can't find a number to wear. Now that he is number 8, he can't play on D with Jeremy Brown. Two QB numbers that are not occupied right now? 5 and 15. And 15 is kinda untouchable.

And we run the ball better with Moody and Gillislee. Demps just can't break tackles like them and isn't the best option to run the dive. He should still see the field, but we need to see more Moody and Gillislee.
