This is the second straight week in which the Florida coaching staff was exposed. No matter what anyone says the talent is there to win games, however, the coaching staff is not! look at the following points:
1) The sign of a great coach is someone who designs and excutes plays to the strengths of his players. Brantley is NOT an option quaterback. No one respects him as a runner so stop running so many toss option plays. THROW THE BALL!
2) Brantley is a drop back passer. Have him throw the ball down the field. The Florida coaching staff has Brantley wasting plays tossing the ball behind the line of scrimmage and throwing in the flat for short or no gains. This allows the defense to crowd the line, keeping everything in front of the linebackers, and kills the run game.
3) The play calling is WAY TO PREDICTABLE! I think the Florida play book consists of about 10 plays. I have the ability to tell wheather Florida is going to run or pass as soon as they come to the line.
4) As much as I like these small speedster running backs and athletes, Florida needs a power back. Florida has no power game to "punch" the ball into the endzone off the one yard line. Recuit a power back in the 215 to 230 pound range. (Ah the ole days of Eric Rhett, Fred tayor, Neal Anderson, John L. Williams to name a few)
5) I have come to the conclusion that Meyer is not the mastermind everyone has been lead to believe. I beleive Dan Mullen was the mastermind. Floridas offense was just as horrible last year after Mullens departure and that was with a veteran group of players. Dan Mullen is the offensive guru. The Florida coaching staff better wake up because Mullen is coming to town next week and it might be "lost number 3 in a row".
