I'm not that surprised. Without Tebow, we'd still be SEC title contenders and even in the national title picture (barely). Without White, WVU is nothing.

i am surprised that matt stafford is not higher on the list myself im a huge tim tebow fan Id do anything to met the guy but wow Stafford should be higher

Why is White number one? Tebow is the better passer. Nothing against White but he's more of a runner.

Honestly, I dont really see either Quarterback as a classic passer. While Tebow won the Heisman, Pat White led his team to a better overall season. And don't even say it's because W. Virginia was more talented than Florida. The Gators have so many more weapons than the Mountaineers yet they won the Fiesta Bowl handidly while we couldn't win the Capitol One Bowl. I'm not dissing Tim or even suggesting that this was his fault, I'm just saying that I can see how someone could justify ranking Pat White higher than him.

The Gators would not be SEC Title contenders with Cam Newton leading us. If Tebow goes down, we'll still be OK... but no way could we win the SEC.

Here's my top 10:

Quarterback

1. Tim Tebow, Florida
2. Matt Stafford, Georgia
3. Pat White, West Virginia
4. Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
5. Chase Daniel, Missouri
6. Graham Harrell, Texas Tech
7. Todd Reesing, Kansas

10. Willie Tuitama, Arizona

I didn't say we'd win the SEC with Brantley or Newton, but we'd still have a shot and would be mentioned in the same sentence as UGA, Auburn, and LSU regarding SEC title talk.

While I haven't said our defense will be "much improved" (I need to see a few games first), it's possible we can have a very good defense this season. Assuming this is the case and Moody/Rainey do well running the ball I see no reason why we couldn't win the SEC, even without Tebow.

I totally agree. Tebow may be the best there is right now. But Newton is good too. And with a good team....a mediocre QB can win teams. look at Miami when they had Ken Dorsey. He only did as good as he did because the front line wouldn't let anyone touch him.

Bull crap. You're buying into that, huh? Without Tebow last year we don't win 6 games.

Last year isn't this year. Last year, our defense wasn't as experienced and we didn't have Moody, Rainey, etc.

Trying comparing Meyer's 1st and 2nd seasons at Florida - we had a vast improvement his second season, especially in our defense. No reason to think the same thing won't happen, although the extent of the improvement is up to debate.

I never claimed last year was this year. But there is no way in hell that Pat White should be rated above Tebow. A blind man could see that.

You hit the nail on the head right there. If Dorsey was THAT good, he would have been drafted higher than the middle of the 7th round. It was the offense around him that made him look good.

Tim Tebow is the #1 QB in college football right now; in spite of Cam Newton having had a poor O&B game this year he has some strong skills and will improve with added playing time. With the limited time he had in 2007, he showed a glimpse of what he's capable of out there. The two-QB system has worked at UF in the past (Johnson-Brindise and Leak-Tebow), and it's possible that we could have the best QB tandem with Tebow-Newton if all goes well this fall.

As far as Pat White goes, let's see how he adapts to Stewart's new offense at WVU and works with it. Some QB's adapt well to coaching changes, and some do not.

I didn't say White was better than Tebow, I said he's probably more important to his team than Tebow is to Florida. Like I said before, WVU without White basically has no chance at winning the Big East undefeated (or win the Big East, period), but Florida without Tebow can still have a shot at the SEC and if our defense and conventional running game were to significantly improve, we could still have a shot at a national title game.

Given the above, why would you talk about last season? Who cares about what Florida would have done last season without Tebow.

Ok wait a minute, I'm pretty sure WVU actually had defense, unlike the gators, with good defense you can have a decent QB, with horrible defense we had an amazing QB and still didn't do naything, I still say Tebow is better than Pat White and without Tebow and Harvins there's no way we could of outscored what the opponents got off our defense.
