Things are truly accelerating now--exactly as one would hope to see at this point in our apparent "RErise".
I had personally come to find the varied relatively subjective "ranking processes" progressively less trustworth last few seasons, so that even BEFORE the full onset of NIL, talk of "collective bargaining" and "pay-for-play" found myself no longer trusting (nor indeed, really seriously considering) the wide array of differently-based ranking outcomes--in truth seeing the "number of stars" an evolving number based on a particular Coach and staff's insight, talent and facility at evaluating "potential upside", then developing towards it.
Given what we've seen in OURS, along with what has turned out to be their ongoing long-range plans, by now I have truly come to trust the strong rise of hope among team and fans.
It's mostly about hunkering down, working hard, staying healthy and making to and THROUGH summer camp and into The 2025 Season now.
Meanwhile, we have each other, the other independent Gator sites and of course the aforementioned "Read and React" to tide us over, see us through.
Mostly it's a matter of:
"Talk's cheap: Lets see us match up against competition. It's PUT UP OR SHUT UP TIME now!"

Frankly, I am already sick of the interseasonal talk--especially the predictable rise lately of so-called "expert"s' sudden revisionist versions of who the best "up'n'coming this or that" might be: Most glaring with respect to various "best QBs in the SEC".
Somehow DJ isn't even making their "Top 5"s now!!!
Look, I can see dropping him from the very top, just based on the whole business's with his being withheld/brought on slowly during spring--but suddenly, outside of a handful of currently "more Gator-focused" individuals and sites he somehow doesn't warrent inclusion, or even MENTION?
FUCK 'em! It's already "hunker down" time, I suppose: I'd already turned to that safer position as a response to the widely varied predictions as to our whole SQUAD'S eventual record against what most agree is among the toughest 2025 scheduled slate of games...Now I realize we'll pretty well have to quietly grit our teeth and essentially back our QB-1 in similar fashion...
In other words, WE PROVE IT ON THE FIELD.
Or not at ALL.
Let's get to the season; I will tend to be pretty quiet until then, I suppose. More than ever, it will be all about "RESULTS, PERIOD" this time around..
As if it were ever in truth about anything else.

Add a flip from LSU to Florida for 4-star S Dylan Purter of Tuskegee, AL, Sumral stole him outright from Kiffin!

Carsyn Baker of Fairburn, GA went to Texas A&M.

Footnote to the walk-on above: he is the younger but much larger brother to Vernell Brown III.

LSU's top commit, 5-star ATH Lamar Brown, has not signed yet. If they get him, that could push them into the top 10.

Florida probably has no leverage to improve its position until transfer portal time.

Here is the Early Signing Day class of 2026. Florida had one ESD flip (Kekua Aumia to Washington) and one pre-ESD flip (Carsyn Baker to Texas A&M). Jon Sumrall scored his first flip by grabbing Dylan Purter from Lane Kiffin's LSU class. Purter was LSU's 7th best recruit. JaReylan McCoy was the last recruit that Napier flipped (from LSU). McCoy was LSU's 7th best recruit at the time as well. Kekua Auma was the only TE in the class, so this position will be critical in the transfer portal.

As others have noted, this is NOT a recruiting class that will yield “regular Championships” (you wanna see classes consistently dominated by 4-
and 5-Star athletes, but it IS a “good one”—a GREAT one for a “transitional year” where the Head Coach who led the recruiting of most of the players on it in the first place was fired a month before the season was even OVER!
It says a NUMBER of good things about everyone involved, former Coach and staff, new Coach, the general character of the young men recruited themselves and the commitment “to the patch”, to the team and each other implicit in this result.
There’s still NIL and of course the transfer portal, the “new realities” in team building that affect both what one can do and how FAST one can DO it!
