Looks like the UF admin (and boosters) see it essentially as we do: We give this one all the time he realistically may need--even COME "the unforeseen": That SIX years and all the rest really add up to a LOT more patience (plus "just in case" foresight) than the FANS will tend to have...No matter WHAT the circumstances, Gator Nation will have long since LOST IT if this program doesn't have cause to tear THAT contract up and improve upon it by year 4 or 5! But "those who matter" clearly have had a frank and true "meeting of the minds" to have settled on all you outline above, E--. And another thing: Look at Dan Mullens' committment to US. He and his wife have come in here EXPECTING to settle in...Coach and University show mutual assumptions in this regard, and appear here to have done things contractually to PROTECT the longterm health of that relationship, come what may.
(Oh--I noticed, LOVED #6 above, btw... LOL)
(A RELIEF to laugh about it, for a change--With all the focus on and loud bs surounding--and especially coming OUT of the MOUTH of--the man himself now, espec with his "return" from that--in his words-- "firm and harsh" suspension, my time at ESPN is lately spent with remote in hand, thumb resting on the channel-switch button... I need, WE NEED to be able to laugh, find cause to laugh MUCH MORE about it all--laugh at HIM, rather than groan, try to move on soon as possible, FORGET about it! It ain't a funny topic, obviously--but when the corrupt liars are cannonized by the media, everywhere within earshot/eyesight, when we have to constantly stomach the shrill support of team and fans as they close ranks around him for the benefit of those hungry cameras, well, as I say, we NEED some laughs, the release and RELIEF that only the cutting edge of satire and pie-in-the-face exposure can bring...)
