Former Gator point guard Scottie Wilbekin is making an early bid to turn heads in the Orlando Magic organization.

The former 2014 SEC player of the year had 15 points on five 3-pointers on Wednesday, leading the Orlando Magic white team to an 81-68 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday in NBA summer league action.

Wilbekin, who played last season professionally overseas in Turkey and Greece, is averaging 10 ppg and 2.3 apg in three summer league games this season.

Wilbekin is one of five former Gators on summer league rosters, a list that includes guard Michael Frazier II (Golden State Warriors), center Jon Horford (Atlanta Hawks), center Chris Walker (Houston Rockets) and forward Casey Prather (NBA D-League Select team). Former Gator center Patric Young declined summer league invites with the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers to sign a two-year, $1.6 million deal to play in Greece for Olympiakos.

Other notes:

– Former Gator assistant coach Rashon Burno is on the move again, from Nebraska to Arizona State. The connection? Burno played for ASU coach Bobby Hurley’s father, Bob Hurley, at St. Anthony’s in Jersey City, N.J.
