"...also considering Florida"? Try, favoring Florida as his "solid first choice" for MONTHS! This is one of three guys, two 5-stars and a 4-star, who claimed (one of 'em even AFTER he committed elsewhere) that "the Gators have always been my favorite team, since I was a kid", or similar words to that effect. Question: "Then why the last-moment change-of-heart?"
You gotta wonder, what got in the way of that young man simply following that heart? Was there really a particular feature of that other program that made the difference--or are these kids just "over-thinking" their decisions? Between the increased number of last day/last minute flip-flops, and rising attrition effectively shrinking the practical size (and resulting success) of these classes (as once highly touted prospects for various reasons transfer out of these schools for a second chance somewhere presumably less challenging), these become progressively more important questions for both the recruiters and the recruited. As hard as it is for US to predict how a recruit will fare in our program and with the team, it is just as difficult for the prospective recruit to predict THEIR future with that team. Go where you always dreamed of playing, do your best to see it through, and you'll have the best chance of getting the most out of it and eventually achieving your goals.
(Given the trends and the world that we live in, though, I'm probably dreaming on this one, right?)
