Urban Meyer refreshed after finally relaxing in offseason

HOOVER, Ala. — "You want obsessive? You want all-encompassing, micromanaging, burning the ever-loving candle to the end?

Urban Meyer can remember being in church, sitting in a pew worshipping with his family long before the craziness began last December. And texting on his phone. To a recruit.

Having found some balance in his life, Urban Meyer is eager to return to the sidelines."You're talking certifiable," Meyer said. "They'd lock you up if they really knew."

Now we finally do. For the first time since his bizarre, 24-hour resignation and return in December, Meyer sat down away from the hectic zoo at SEC Media Days to talk about life away from the game—and how it has changed him over the last seven months."

Very good news, he talked a little about it at his media day press conference and he seemed relaxed and ready to go. He also mentioned about some pain he used to deal with which is now diagnosed. It should lead to being more focused and another nat'l championship. Go Gators!!

HOOVER, Ala. — "Urban Meyer looked tan and refreshed and ready. The Summer of Urban, one unlike any he has ever experienced, is over.

"It's on now, huh?" he said Wednesday before making his appearance in front of hundreds of tape recorders and notepads at SEC Media Days. "I'm as jacked up as I've ever been."

It was a different Urban Meyer this summer, not the hands-on, attention-to-every-detail coach of the past. That lifestyle, he said, did not contribute to his sudden resignation in December that was rescinded less than 24 hours later, but that Meyer looked gaunt and stressed. This one has a summer full of memories to carry him into this season, snapshots of family time and unique experiences."
