Tailgating

Aloha Gators. I have been reading this site for a year and a half now and finally joined. Mainly because Hawaii is coming that way in about 2 weeks! I can't wait. And for the record, I root for the Gators more than I do the UGA Dawgs (since I live in Atlanta). I really can't wait to see you guys in action. DO I think we will win...hells yes...realistically...hells no! ha ha ha

I was wondering about tailgating down in the swamp. there are at least 50 of us (Hawaiians) living int he Atlanta area that will be making the trip. We want to set up a tailgate somewhere with some Gator Fans. I did see a map of the place and where to go, but unsure what time I need to be there to get a spot. I will be having at least another 1-200 folks from Hawaii coming down to it also. I get in on Thursday to check things out. Can anyone help? I appreciate it!

You should set up in a good spot on Friday. I would reccommend by the Levin school of law. A lot of good tailgating going on there, and you don't need to reserve it, just be the first to show up!

Well it's a 12:30 game so people will begin tailgating at 7:00 AM. If you have a large group and want to get a big spot early, you can always try the intersection of Frat Row and Museum... which is right near Lake Alice. There should be room there at 7 AM for a large caravan at cars. The walk to the stadium is longer then some, but it's not too bad.

I appreciate the help. there will be lots of hawaiian food. As we did for the Alabama game, we showed up at least 170-200 deep with food, pupus, and drinks. We got to mingle with the Bama folks and it was a great time. I encourage all gators to stop by and talk football with us. Oh and eat some good hawaiian food. And for most of you, I will see you again at the UGA game! This should be a fun tailgate. Oh and what time do they kick you out? We were thinking of getting back to the tailgate and just hanging out there till evening.

I'm sorry you had to "mingle" with Bama fans. I'm sure you'll find Gainesville a lot more civilized than Tuscaloosa.

Technically, you can stay as late as you want, but cops start to enforce the open container law once the game is over.

It's nice to see some opposing fans being friendly and bringing their culture to the game/tailgating

Well the Hawaii fans know that the SEC is huge. Well I do at least, hell I lived in Atlanta for the past 7 years and love SEC ball. We just like to eat and drink to tell you the truth! Share the Aloha Spirit with everyone else. We always have a good time no matter if we win or lose. I am so excited to make my first trip to Gainesville. I got to see the past 3 UGA-FL games, what a blast! I just hope we score 3 touchdowns! ha ha ha And I hope to meet everyone that has psoted here at the game!

Hey Haynbobby,

If you're gtting to Gainesville the day before, check out the Harn Museum. They will be celebrating Hawaiian culture Friday Night.

It should be interesting.
