GAINESVILLE — "In six years coaching Florida, Urban Meyer has heard rival coaches slam almost every part of his program in order to sway a high school recruit away from the Gators. They've attacked Florida's academic commitment, whispered about Meyer bolting for Notre Dame and questioned how long his health will allow him to keep coaching.
This year, Meyer said, his opponents are telling prep stars they have no chance to get playing time on a team that just signed the nation's top recruiting class.
"We've had a couple years where we hit the home run on a recruiting class and people use that against us," he said. "Well, you know, that's part of the business. It's a little harder."
