We all knew this was coming. Chris Rainey was reinstated a few weeks ago as the Gators were struggling at running back ... and now that we've lost three games in a row Meyer is ready to get him on the field. Of course, technically just because he is eligible doesn't mean he will get playing time. We can only assume that he will since the Gators have been hampered by injuries to Demps, Moody and Gillislee.
"He is eligible to play in this game, but that won't be determined until next week," Meyer said. "He's on a week-to-week (basis)." The Gators have a bye week this weekend, so that gives Chris plenty of time to get back in football shape and take the reps he needs to feel comfortable on the field again.
Rainey will have a nice opportunity to regain support from the fans if he can perform well on the field. Because in the end, to the fans that's what matters most.
