I believe AR15 will be the starter in 2022. I don't know much about Napier's system though his QB from ULL Levi Lewis was a dual-threat. Plus is Miller going to play in 2022?

Miller is here for depth. The starting job is AR15’s to lose. Denny Thompson (his passing coach) says Richardson is a passing quarterback who happens to be a good runner. I think Napier’s staff will leave the running to a stable of running backs and let Richardson make throws when they need it. This is of course contingent on Richardson recovering from surgery.

I get the impression that there will be no adjusting of playbooks. Napier and his staff are going to overhaul this offense and defense entirely. I will write up an article on that later as I get more information, but I can tell you that the offense will be nothing like Mullen's and the defense will be nothing like Grantham's. The offense will feature a pocket passer, which suits both Richardson's and Miller's styles. Carlos Del Rio-Wilson and Kitna were both evaluated as dual threat QBs, as was Evers before he backed off his commitment to UF. Kitna could theoretically be a pocket passer now that he hit a growth spurt. On defense the Gators will revert to a more traditional 4-3 defense, which is not a good fit for any 2021 linebacker except maybe Ventrell Miller. This is also not a perfect fit for some of the defensive linemen. I think the 2022 defense will not have what we have been calling an EDGE or BUCK--at least not in the same way we have seen this position since Will Muschamp took over as head coach in 2011. I think the STAR position will also go away, which will eliminate tweener safeties, linebackers, and cornerbacks.

As it relates to Jack Miller, he was recruited to Florida because Napier evaluated him all the way back in 2017 when he was at Arizona State. If Richardson does not heal from surgery in the spring, I could see Miller heading into fall camp as the #1 because Napier would not have evaluated Richardson. If Richardson does heal from surgery and confirms that he is a pocket passer then I could see him entering fall camp as the #1--as most of us expect. The key here is to not mistake Richardson as a dual threat QB. True, he was evaluated as the #9 dual threat QB in the class of 2020, but at one point he was listed as as top pro-style QB right behind Carson Beck--his fellow alumnus of Denny Thompson's passing academy. Miller was ranked as the #13 pro-style passer in that same class.

Here is a comparison of QBs in the 2020 and 2021 classes. Jack Miller competed against CJ Stroud and Kyle McCord and was placed behind both on the depth chart. Ohio State signed Quinn Ewers, presumably to compete with McCord for the #2 spot before electing to reclassify to 2022 and transfer. Jack would have been buried in the Ohio State depth chart which would have featured two 5-star QBs. Miller could pull ahead of Richardson at Florida if the offense suits his pocket passing style; however, Richardson could prove to be a decent pocket passer as fellow dual-threat QB Bryce Young has shown at Alabama. Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson both hit growth spurts late and were evaluated as dual-threat QBs despite strong showings as pocket passers at Elite 11.

All I can go by is what I’ve personally “seen so far”—and by that 1st-hand experience am still excited to see what AR-15 might do, healthy and given the right team and (hoped for) opportunities here at UF.
Part of this whole “wait’n’see” situation here now in Gainesville.
But we appear to be in solid, flexible shape here heading into 2022 under the new Coaching regime.
