Good news out of Gainesville regarding sophomore cornerback Janoris Jenkins. Jenkins signed a deferred prosecution agreement with the state attorney's office Tuesday that will erase his legal troubles if he stays out of trouble for the next six months. Jenkins was arrested 5 weeks ago for resisting arrest for his part in a fight outside a Gainesville club.
This proves yet again that Gainesville attorney Huntley Johnson is one of the most important people to the Florida Gators that is not on the payroll. Johnson always represents the players and does an outstanding job assuring charges are dropped or players get only probation.
I'm sure Coach Meyer will still suspend Jenkins for the Charleston Southern game, but that'll be the end of it. With football season starting in a month, Jenkins won't have time to get in trouble.
