Gators recruiting bonanza not over

O-town Gator

Gator Fan
"Rivals recruiting analyst Mike Farrell called the recruiting bonanza “scary” for the rest of the SEC. Each of the three major recruiting services — ESPN, Rivals and Scout — have Florida’s 2010 class ranked No. 1 in the country.

What’s even scarier, though, is the Gators might not be done adding blue-chip talent to next year’s roster.

The Gators are still in the mix for the No. 1 prospect in the nation, Minnesota offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson. Jordan Hicks, the nation’s top linebacker recruit, has his choices narrowed down to Florida, Texas and Ohio State.

Five-star defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, No. 6 on the Rivals 100, lists Florida as a finalist. Four-star Miramar receiver Ivan McCartney has Florida among his finalists, while Kyle Prater, the No. 2 prospect in the nation according to Rivals, has re-opened his commitment after Pete Carroll left USC over the weekend. He’s considering Notre Dame, Illinois, and, yes, Florida.

And over the weekend, four-star quarterback Andrew Hendrix, a Notre Dame verbal commitment, visited Gainesville and came away impressed, according to Gator Country. Hendrix, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound dual-threat quarterback from Cincinnati, hung out with quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler and offensive coordinator Steve Addazio all weekend and had dinner with Meyer and his wife."
