In case some of you hadn't heard during halftime of the O&B on Saturday, Coach Meyer and our Gators will be travelling to DC on Thursday to meet with Barack Obama at the White House. Marcus Gilbert's dad happens to work for the Secret Service and is assigned to Obama's detail: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_college_uf/2009/04/gators-ot-marcus-gilbert-excited-to-see-his-boy-obama-on-thursday.html

I myself am no fan of Obama's policies nor his dubious past, but I admit that it's a great thrill for the team to be able to meet the new president in the White House.

I did catch a little of the video clip; Obama was praiseworthy of the kids for the most part. Kestahn Moore, Louis Murphy, Jason Watkins and CI were up front near the podium; he also pointed the Pouncey twins for being "comedians" and spoke well of Tim Tebow for his efforts as well as his speech following the Ole Miss loss. He did say his piece about wanting a playoff, but was at least respectful of our kids. CI then presented him with a jersey and souvenir football.

No Gator chomp from Obama like Bush did back in 2006 - I wonder why?
