Gators offense could be better in 2010 thanks to these new faces

I understand that the Gator offense was in the top two of the SEC, but where did it rank in the nation? 14. 2009 was a good year, but we did sputter on offense after September. I am not complaining, but I am pointing out some perspective on that "#1 or 2 in SEC" stat there. I would like to get all excited about this year's offense, but last year taught me to just be happy with wins and not explosive offense. Who knows what this year will bring in football?

should be better

last year was pretty crappy imo

it was very simple and easy to learn on tape with us mainly using 2 receivers(cooper & hernandez) the whole year, tebow running all the time and all the RB dives

im definitely looking forward to new WR's this year and hopefully getting one of our fast guys used to taking a direct snap like percy did in 08(i dont know why we couldnt do this last year :confused0082:)

Last year's offense was VERY predictable. On designed pass plays Tebow would read 1 and 2 and then scramble. he didn't trust Thompson very much. But next year with all of the new WRs coming in and Debose eying a full recovery, Brantley's QB skills will shine, and we will be MUCH more explosive. Even on the short highlights that I put together of Brantley, you can tell he's very good at directing the secondary, and very accurate. It really will be the SPREAD next year.

With Loeffler sharing play-calling, the spread-option should be more spread and less option. I wish the Gator coaches would just let us know what happened last year. Was the offense that predictable because of the 1-2 reads, lack of confidence on playmakers vital to the spread, or Addazzio's preference for the run, or Tebow's injury, or Meyer trying to save energy for the SEC CG? So much speculation!
