Hard to figure from your latest post here what the apparent "backchannel excitement" is about: No 5-stars among 'em, ranked #21 overall...What am I missing here? I see some strength there on both lines and in the defensive secondary--but nothing to be especially excited about overall. Now, that collection so far altogether MIGHT make a real nice "base" group once finding some outstanding adds and flips at playmaker positions by early signing--a coupla monsters anchoring the future on our O-line especially could really make a difference for us heading into spring. But as things stand, I'm finding it difficult to understand the recent comments by various "TV talking heads" (are they "jus' talkin' ", assuming Mullen and his staff will cash in what I hear has been an ongoing INTENSE campaign "out there" on the road, nationally AND instate?), AND those of my friend back at UF who threw that fat hint out there (and who WOULD be in a position to know).
What is YOUR impression so far, from following all this more closely (at least more closer than me, up til now), E--?
It is only really hitting me now how soon this might make a difference for us: In terms of depth, for sure, and maybe in a few cases with coaching, practice and in-game experience some of these guys could be contributing to our continued rise next season...
Of course, with a win Saturday we may go on focusing mainly on THIS team, THIS year for the rest of the season, but "where we're headed" is and will remain an important parallel concern regardless. We have already seen enough THIS season to realize that "filling holes", "building depth", and considering "how much better we can be how soon" is now more than "hopeful, if abstract, theory": "THE FUTURE..." may not quite be NOW, but it sure seems this next recruiting cycle will play a big part in determining whether it may be "...very SOON".
One more thing, of course: Our play this year so far sure hasn't HURT us out there; win or lose Saturday, a strong finish and a big bowl game keeps our profile high, and meanwhile makes visits to the Swamp by high profile recruits that much more "crazy fun" for them to see and feel. MORE reasons why it all counts for so much the rest of the way.
GO GATORS!!!

I do not place as much emphasis on chasing around every story, since the sites that focus on recruiting do a better job of that despite being wrong 50% of the time. I just focus on the official commitments--at least in this thread.

Just for you, @DRU2012 I made this thread: http://www.gatorenvy.com/threads/gator-recruiting-mid-season-progress-for-2019.19850/

I dunno, my friends. I'm just getting a whole different feeling about this recruit cycle that's building. Put it like this: I am beginning to feel like this will end up being a foundational add this year--one we'll be gaining benefit from for years to come.
I could go thru all the analytical reasons I have to support that "feeling", the KINDS of guys they are tending to be, as much a part of who Mullen is looking for, AND their filling all the places and spaces where we need to be deeper and stronger...But just what I'm seeing so far, the quality and pace and pattern. Dan's got the coaches around him to get ahold of this talent and mold it into tight units that GET THE JOB DONE. Add playmakers and a truly elite QB and here comes the final game in the CFP.
Any one think I'm fooling?
Lemme know if/when y'all see it too.
