The University of Florida, along with the 11 other schools of the Southeastern Conference, are currently in Hoover, Alabama for the annual SEC Media Days. During the Media Days, coaches and players from each school give press conferences to discuss the previous season and what to expect in the upcoming one. Two of the hot Gator topics of SEC Media Days are "Who didn't vote for Tim Tebow to the Preseason ALL-SEC team" and the expectations to go undefeated and win another BCS National Championship.
"The goal is to win the SEC championship," senior quarterback Tim Tebow said. "I feel if we're champions of the best conference in college football, we should have an opportunity to play for it all. Our focus is the SEC.
"Do we want to be undefeated? Absolutely. But our mindset is not to go undefeated. If we lose a game and still win a national championship, we would take that. Even if we lose, we're not going to be heartbroken if we win a national championship. All we're worried about is getting to Atlanta and winning that game."
The Gators have won two of the last three BCS national championships. But from the sound of things, this might be their most talented team yet.
"I've never been more anxious to coach a football team," Florida coach Urban Meyer said.
A couple of Gator notes from the SEC Media Days:
- Florida Gator LB Brandon Spikes (leader of the defense) got a little stage fright and bailed out of his press conference.
- Steve Spurrier admits he's the coach that didn't vote for Tim Tebow for the 1st Team Preseason ALL-SEC Team (apparently it was an oversight)
- Tim Tebow admits that he is a virgin and saving himself for marriage
- Tim Tebow disclosed that he has a $2 million insurance policy
