Elam roller coaster continues

We are in deep trouble if we lose Elam to FSU.

You guys can laugh, but since FSU got rid of Bowden, they are getting a lot of recruits, including 5 star Jeff Luc. FSU will probably win 10 games very quickly with all this talent they are getting.

Why be such a chicken-little?

I have to LOL at all the Gator fans locking the switch into panic mode just because the SOW scored a couple of recruits who were on UF's wish list - they seem to forget that verbal commitments aren't binding, and anything can happen between now and National Signing Day.

With the way Florida's present list is shaping up, we have a pretty good incoming class for 2010, and we just added RB Cody Riggs to that list - so there's really no need for anybody to panic just yet.

Besides, the jury's still out on Jimbo Fisher as a head coach -in case that still needs to be pointed out.

Jimbo's offense was good last year. They get Ponder for his senior year and Manuel has experience now. Their defense has nowhere to go but up and they have the athletes to improve. And they've finally gotten rid of the distraction that was Bowden. You saw last year they only lost by 4 to the eventual ACC winner.

If they can't at least get to the ACC Championship game next season and win 9 games, I'll be shocked.

Photo shows strenth of Matt Elam's commitment

Five-star safety recruit Matt Elam has been a Florida Gators commitment for more than a year. Yet over that period of time, questions regarding the solidity of that promise have been many, not assisted by Elam’s repeated statements that he wanted to go on other recruiting trips and was considering a handful of other universities as he remained committed to the University of Florida. During Elam’s official visit to Gainesville, FL, this weekend, he donned a No. 22 blue Gators jersey in the Florida locker room and looks to be as committed as ever with a huge smile on his face. Elam has already filled out his admissions paperwork, but he must wait to submit it until he is officially graduated from Dwyer High School. He has planned to be on campus in January for spring practice in order to get a leg up on next season.

UPDATE: If that wasn’t enough, the picture above is now Elam’s facebook profile photo.
