The GATORS came into this weekend, unranked and in need of a series win. Their opponent was #5 in the country and 1st in the SEC east - UGA.
We were rested without any midweek game stuff, and it showed. We battled on the mound, in the field and at the plate. It was a heated and spirited comptetion and we won it in convincing fashion.
The 3rd game of the weekend, the rubber match provided several face-to-face altercations between players....remember, IT'S GEORGIA :hammer:
But when all was said and done, the GATORS got the last lick. We won yesterday's game 7-2 and looked definitely pumped up.
UGA is very, very good and has some really good players....mainly a closer that throws 98 mph and a shortstop who is hitting 432 with 20 HR's....
The GATORS made 0 errors, all weekend....huge help. We got some clutch hits and made some clutch throws to get tagging up runners out at the plate...just good baseball.
We have 3 SEC series left and we need most of them :rockon:
