#32 Reggie F'in Nelson of Melbourne, Florida played free safety under Urban Meyer at the University of Florida from 2005-2006 after earning his associate’s degree at Coffeyville Community College. Although his stint in Gainesville was short, he certainly racked up some highlight reel tackles. As a junior, he was selected to the Gator Leadership Committee, was pivotal in the team’s national championship run, and recorded 51 tackles, 5 passes defended, and 6 interceptions. He was First-team All SEC, First-team All American, team MVP, Jack Tatum Trophy winner, and member of the 2006 SEC championship team and the 2006-2007 BCS National Championship team. Imagine what he could have done if he were here for more than two seasons!
Reggie was a first-round pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played for the Jaguars until being traded to the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010. Between 2010 and 2015, Reggie earned accolades as a member of the PFWA All-Rookie Team, was the NFL interceptions co-leader (2015), and second-team All-Pro. In 2016 he signed with the Oakland Raiders under his former Jaguars head coach, Jack Del Rio. As a Raider he earned his second Pro Bowl honor. As of 2019 he is a free agent.
