Arch Manning

The Gators are in the running for Peyton's and Eli's nephew. Fun Fact, Peyton was recruited by Florida but went to Tennessee probably for the best he would have waited for this turn behind Danny.

I do not expect Arch Manning to pick Florida, but the fact that a 5-star QB would consider Florida for the first time in over a decade is quite an accomplishment for Napier. Still, Napier needs to land some of these 5-star athletes, but this is a good sign. Mullen, McElwain, and Muschamp could not get any 5-star QBs to take a serious look at Florida. Driskel was the last 5-star to seriously consider Florida, but his recruitment was started under Urban Meyer in 2009-2010.

@Escambia94, @Leakfan12,
I don’t know WHAT to make of this “late flirtation on the dance floor”...Frankly, along with all the rest of the apparent “reasons why he wouldn’t” was the simple fact that UF has been such a long time competitor to every ONE of the Mannings—through multiple generations we have been sort of the “habitual OTHER”, at best an “automatic worthy adversary”!
Yes, it speaks well of Napier to come in late and see us inserted into the conversation, at the very least. But let’s see him actually VISIT GAINESVILLE before getting caught up in all the speculation.
All in all, another “good sign” in the developing differences between the LAST Coach and the one we have now—but we have still to begin LANDING FIVE STAR PLAYERS again before we might begin to see what this extensive new staff can DO WITH THEM!
There seems more and more reason for dawning optimism—but let’s see what we’ve got and where we’re headed with it before even trying to draw any conclusions.
Personally, I’m still trying to figure out what “Scared money don’t MAKE money!” really means.

To be fair, Peyton broke the mold by not going to Ole Miss. All the other Mannings went to Ole Miss. Maybe Arch is open to the idea of blazing his own trail, and that trail will be in Baton Rouge or Gainesville.

Well, once again, “Can’t argue with you, E—“...
And I especially like that very last one—“burst of optimism” though it may be!

It was veiled optimism. I think Arch Manning will pick LSU, but Florida will get some looks thanks to Napier and his recruiting arm--looks that we would not get with Mullen, McElwain, or Muschamp.

True, partially because Ole Miss had some problems with their program at the time and Cooper (Arch's Dad) was unable to play. Also true that Arch might blaze his own path though there are other schools like Bama, Clemson, Georgia, Texas, LSU, as well in the hunt.
