We GOTTA somehow get a turnover—flip the field and the scoreboard just ONCE, at least.

We won’t back down! The Gators are out gaining the Tide in every category that matters except points on the board.

Well, after bumbling, stumbling, fumbling around for much of the FIRST half, and our unevenly coached and schemed defense having done little to give us our best chance to win, we somehow STILL enter the 4th quarter with a CHANCE AT VICTORY AFTER ALL.
If only Coach could send AR in to STEAL ONE at the very END!

It here come the avalanche of stupid penalties. Again: That is on our DC and his people.

We CAN’T let them score a TD here—Got to SOMEHOW limit the damage. Can’t go on trading scores.

ANOTHER missed tackle.
Are we not TOTALLY SICK OF THAT???
Is there ANY DOUBT where the “Missing Link” lies on this team?
Grantham MUST GO!
Now—here comes the MOMENT OF TRUTH:
(And of COURSE the D is undermanned, not ready for the big play on 4th down and has to call a timeout—but at least they managed THAT, rather than simply surrendering the TD then and there...

And this time THEY commit the penalty—Crowd comes through.
So now, a TD and a 2 pt conversion gets us all the way back.
I will now say it:
While I still say “F*CK GRANTHAM”, with this 2nd half I proudly give this Gator TEAM credit for FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT, no matter what.
If we can mount just one more big drive, right here and now, I THINK that I can walk away with head high and OK with it, even if we lose a close one after all.
I’m still NOT a believer in “moral victories”—but I AM seeing character, pride and above all FIGHT in this team, fight to the very end.
THAT gives me HOPE.

So we lose ‘cause of a missed extra point?
Well, only that Grantham D stands between the Tide and running it out now.
Can’t say I’m optimistic.

Gotta say, though—had you told me this is what it would come down to BEFORE the game was played I would have taken it...and even MORE SO by late in the first half.

NO one gave us a chance to keep it THIS close. And damnit, we COULD HAVE WON IT!
C’mon, guys. HOLD ‘EM!

I think they gotta move us UP a coupla spots in rank anyway—into the Top Ten after the 2nd half here. If we recover quickly and stay focused, go on and beat Tennessee NEXT week, we COUKD win out.
Aw, they make it. Barely, but now we are running out of time. Even if we get it back, at best we’ll still be a long throw and a quick kick away from victory. Long shot at best. But it’ll be all we have, if THAT, in another 2plays.

OK. Let’s see how this play out.
If we can get the ball, we have just those narrow coupla possibilities that gotta be perfectly executed to be successful.
Shoot: We got the ball—but only 4secomds left...

It all sorta petered out there at the end—woulda liked to have seen us get that chance...
Then again, though, HATED that a missed extra point denied us a shot at overtime.

A lot to digest after this one.
Not as bad as it might have been—or even LOOKED early!
But personally I am DONE with Grantham now. Here’s hoping Coach Dan is finally ready to move on as well.

Ball game. Yes, it is a moral victory, but the Gators out gained the Tide and still lost. The missed tackles definitely hurt. Alabama had the most penalties I have seen from a Saban team in over a decade, which means the noise from the Swamp did make a difference. The MVPs are the 90,887 fans who showed up in what some are saying was the loudest the Swamp has been over four quarters in a very long time. That was the largest crowd under Dan Mullen and the fifth largest all-time. The Gators held Bama to under 100 yards rushing and outgained them by 100 yards overall. Anthony Richardson’s absence really was felt here. Ventrell Miller’s absence was ameliorated by Jeremiah Moon and others stepping up to keep the Tide under 100 yards rushing. It sucks losing at home, but this was a good game after the 1st quarter. Go Gators!

Emory Jones probably had his best game of the season. If the Gators got that extra point or the two-point conversation, the game would have gone to overtime. I think Jones could have gone in running in the outside but he held on to the damn ball too long (again). The D let the team down again. Three third-down conversations of 8+ yards that Bama TD drive in the third quarter is not good especially when the DB (forget who) tackled the Bama receiver for a pass inference. I thought Marco Wilson was in the NFL? Also, the pass inference in the Bama FG drive was questionable actually I'll say, it shouldn't have been called. I know I'm biased.
