The Florida Gators have 20 seniors who will participate in Senior Day celebration:

The Seniors.
#41. Ryan Farr LS 6-1 230. Henderson, Nevada.
#64. Tyler Jordan OL 6-4 321. Jacksonville, Florida.
#73. Martez Ivey OL 6-5 306. Apopka, Florida.
#74. Fred Johnson OL 6-6 330. West Palm Beach, Florida.
#96. Cece Jefferson DL 6-1 252. Glen St. Mary, Florida.

The Red Shirt Seniors.
#9. Dre Massey WR 5-9 189. Greenville, South Carolina.
#38. Anthony Gigila ATH 6-0 184. Clermont, Florida.
#45. R.J. Raymond ATH 6-2 249. Atlantic Beach, Florida.
#53. Kavaris Harkless OL 6-4 305. Jacksonville, Florida.
#54. Khairi Clark DL 6-1 311. Hollywood, Florida.
#80. C’ontai Lewis TE 6-4 233. Eutaw, Alabama.
#82. Moral Stephens TE 6-4 247. Perry, Georgia.
#98. Jorge Powell K 5-9 174. Coral Gables, Florida.

The redshirt seniors from the recruiting class of 2014 have definitely seen some turmoil in their time at Florida, with three head coaches and two sub-0.500 seasons. The seniors from the recruiting class of 2015 had their fair share of turmoil as well, including the Will Grier fiasco in their freshman year, the credit card scandal in their sophomore year, the fake death threats in their junior year, and a year of hope finally in their senior year. Out of this group, there will likely be a couple NFL draft picks (Martez Ivey, Cece Jefferson) and a couple undrafted free agents (Khairi Clark, Kavaris Harkless), as well as a couple potential early entrants from the junior class (Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Jachai Polite, Jordan Scarlett, Jawaan Taylor).

LOL. Sorry--MEANT to take this game seriously...and really, fact remains we damn well BETTER--Prob only way to screw this one UP is to NOT do so: THAT'S what Saban was trying to say vis a vis not playing Tua--though that particular application of the concept stretches its point rather absurdly. I mean, first of all, he LOOKS like he is borderline "troubled"; second, you DON'T need him to win; and finally the other team AND your own already grasp the subtleties and nuances of whatever you do to protect him...YOU DON'T HAVE TO BANG 'EM OVER THE HEAD WITH IT, Nick!
...Anyway, I am tired of talking about this: The main point OVERmade AGAIN IS REVELATORY: YOU'RE A STUBBORN S.O.B., SABAN! Sooner or later, cumulatively or climactically it's gonna bite you on the butt--For now though just make your point, run him out there as "the Starter" for a coupla series and then SIT HIM DOWN.
Back to how it all applies in OUR case: We are just another SEC program who takes advantage of the rules (if all these whiners outside the SEC are so sure it is an advantage, they are welcome to emulate it in their OWN programs and conferences, after all), how tough our yearly in-conference schedule is, how we finish up our SEC schedule the week BEFORE Turkey-Day and face the OUR cross-state rivals the week AFTER--so have "developed our OWN "tradition" of scheduling "a winnable game" this annual "week-in-between". It's SUPPOSED to be something of a "rest"--so it's also a bit of a tough one for a Coach trying to keep his young charges focused...and on an uneven team still not "fully back", that "mixed message" must be scary indeed. I suppose the safest thing is to OVERplay your hand, "show enough respect" for your opponent to talk about "THEY work just as hard, have just as much pride" and "any given Saturday..." (all of which is just true enough to set up a certain kind of team, one with enough "problems in the lockeroom", for a terrible fall now and then)...the hopefully larger risk HERE being that you utterly BURY them and HOPE no one is injured--and overall, the whole exercise "does more good than harm".
I'm fairly confident this latter is likely what we'll see tomorrow. And if so, fine: both the players and the FANS deserve some "relaxed good clean FUN"! And a repeated opportunity for FRANKS to wing it downfield successfully wouldn't be a bad thing either (woulda been nice for JONES had Franks already properly established himself in this regard now, but Emory will HAVE his chances there soon enough, and right now a dazzling passing performance out there for ANY Gator but Fillipe is probably the LAST thing he or MULLEN needs: We need him "confidently angry", it seems--NOT paranoid, insecure and filled with self-doubt (...And backchannel, by-the-way: Young Jones, both in his prep play before we flipped him AND subsequently behind-the-scenes since getting here, has shown a real propensity for making the throws--on the run, accurately, with touch, short or long... If this kid can do it IN-GAME, unlike the long line of Brantleys etc last near-decade who came in highly touted but for whatever reasons never materialized when it counted, THIS could be "THE GUY" after all (especially in Mullen's scheme and under his tutelage). But right here, right now, Mullen (and therefore all of US) need a calm, determined and sharply-skilled FRANKS to show up and finish THIS season strong.

It is almost 4am, just got in (night shoot on a closed street/alleyway downtown) ...HOPED to be done and asleep before now, to be honest. Will get up in a few hours and tune this one in on laptop (from what I gather, streamed on WatchESPN is the ONLY way to see it in my neck'o'the woods). But I may not be doing too much ingame commentary this time around...If I go "FULLY STEALTH" you can probably assume I've fallen back asleep--for which I apologize in advance: Y'all KNOW that like you, I AM fully committed fan who normally DOESN'T crash on our team, no matter the circumstances, long as we aren't on the wrong end of a big and unexpected beatdown; so I WILL be there--but long as it's a party by the 2nd half, I MAY be less apt to blather on about the details.
Anyway, LATER Gators...
EAT 'EM UP!!!

Good game, though, E--: UAB supposed to be a "real" program nowadays, and this is THEIR "circled on the calendar" game...and though I havr never experienced it in person myself, the whole "12th man"-thing for A&M at home in College Station of course is a TRIP--a REAL "homefield advantage"... Will be monitoring that one now with interest.
And you CAN monitor OUR early game in the Swamp: We can STREAM it here in Texas on our phones, using "WatchESPN" (It is all set up at the site; Hope it all RUNS that easy, 'cause it's the only way I can see the game today!).
Have fun!
With all the talk about what a weak slate this week is supposed to have, there are some interesting ones today...Sure like to see Syracuse bump off the Irish, shut that annual overhype down for another year. Then of course there is the UCF vs Cincinnati game: From the way THAT one is being packaged by the media jerks you'd think that Cincinnati was ALABAMA, with that kind of tradition, personel and current strength of schedule. I say, "If that's the best team you have or will play, the quality-of-opponent you will hang-your-hat-on to determine your actual total level-of-play, win or lose, then you have already MADE OUR POINT out here: You are a pretty good 'SECOND TIER' program, and that's ALL!"
As I write this Fowler is declaring UCF the "Champions of the State of Florida" on ESPN's "GameDay" show, using words like "indisputable" despite them not having PLAYED ANY of the state's "Big Boys"--I am not sure they could win such matchups even during the "down periods" at least TWO of them are currently still in which is a major part of the true point here: UCF HASN'T PLAYED ANYONE!!! Be nice to see them lose to Cincinati today and shut them al UP, shut this whole parade of blind foolishness DOWN for a while.
And though we'd TAKE a major Bowl and national attention if offered, I'm NOT so sure I really want to throw our still uneven/inconsistent Franks-led offensive squad, and banged up, distracted-by-potential draft-status defensive one in against a small-but-fast, "NOT great but GOOD" UCF team with a WHOLE lot more to play for in such a game. Too much riding on Franks in such a game to pit him againstANYONE in what may well turn into a SHOOTOUT. IF our defense were still playing at the level it showed earlier in the season (before SEC Coaches caught on to Grantham's approach--and HE doing FAR too little in adapting to all that himself... and some of our best defenders either injured or already looking towards finding an agent and the NFL draft).
Nah...I promise not to get TOO bummed out if we win out but end up in something like "The Belk Bowl" (ie. Good day, good venue in Atlanta, a place OUR fans travel well to, good money and enough prestige and attention not to HURT recruiting, no matter who the opponent and/or what the eventual outcome, really).
Just wanna see us finish strong and move on to recruiting and 2019... That "other way": ie. What'd no doubt be billed as "The OTHER 'Title Game' "--for THEM but NOT for us! They'd have ALL the potential benefits, upside and claims, whereas we'd have NOTHING but EVERYONE ELSE'S EXPECTATIONS riding on us: Near-casual "satisfaction" at BEST if we win, loud dissaproval and contempt if we were to even let it be CLOSE, let alone LOSE. Oh, it'd be exciting--we couldn't, WOULDN'T run from it...but underneath all the BS, there will be cause for breath-expellimg RELIEF with a UCF loss TODAY!.
(BUT the Bearcats ARE "just a good American Conference program", like UCF themselves--and not as FAST, either... They DO appear to be playing some DEFENSE, though, which is exactly how you BEAT a team like the Knights.)

Gotta love Lee Corso, though...
They were in the middle of talking about all this stuff on College Gameday (there in Orlando, btw) a moment ago, wrapping it up with their thoughts before a bottom-of-the-hour commercial break when Corso's turn comes and he says, "There's one thing that you can say, no matter WHAT here: THESE people don't GIVE a shit."
Yup. As they say, "Drop the MIKE, Coach!"
Lol

...and as you can see, I’m up—and operating out of my iPhone here today. Will have the game on laptop, GE comments over here...Sleepy as I am at this point, have no idea where this is headed: HOPE we can relax early, O can go for “laughing all the WAY”-fun for a change—and hope maybe it won’t make TOO big a diff if I happen to drift off here and there over the course of the next few hours...I figure that’ll ONLY happen if we are comfortably kicking a$$, so I guess THAT’S what I’m HOPING for. (It’s a little early for drinking, but I do still have that bottle of OLD cognac I broke open out of nervous frustration LAST Saturday...All it’d take today is maybe three fingers of it and I will prob float away on a warm and dreamy sea—so I won’t even consider it unless/until we have begun the Big Beat Down or somehow not just started badly but begun to look like we might be managing to BLOW it...If it looks THAT way for even a moment I will SAY so—and well may storm off in DISGUST.

...Not even SURE about a lot of these “New Stats”, but pretty sure a “99% FPI to win” means we OUGHT to be able to run this like a “spirited scrimmage” and walk away with it—but of course every now and then a bunch of young guys reading/HEARING that sort of thing get the idea they don’t even need to SHOW UP—and THAT leads to headline-blaring national EMBARRASSMENT.
So go out there and BURY THEM EARLY, boys!

Oh—This changes things: Just found out big change in S Texas “broadcast footprint” now has our game scheduled to appear on ESPN U: I don’t have to watch it on my computer after all. OK, that means big screen and easier-for-me “usual setup” for doing our “Saturday Thing”. Alright!

Even Franks can throw against this team.
Oh, now he runs it in EASILY.
I wanted "easy", but so far THIS one is GIFT-WRAPPED. Hell, Franks is looking like the MAN here. That's PARTLY him--but a good deal of a WAY overmatched "Vandals" squad, too.
"VANDALS"??? Yeah--like a bunch of kindergardeners with washable crayons...

Well, this Gayor team came to play: Their closing game this season at the Swamp--and Coach has 'em taking it seriously, and at full speed. Guess this is where Idaho and "the OTHER Petrino" has to decide whether to just GO FOR IT, statt airing it out--or TRY to ignore the first coupla series and buckle down, try to do whatever you orig had in mind as far as the NEXT time you get the ball.
Meanwhile: LOVE watching this Toney kid. Just get him the ball more and more.

With a really consistently top knotch performing QB, we might well be able to look like this against ANYONE.
UM, Franks throws it behimd to misd yhe easy TD. Now they misfire on 4th and short at the 5. Took it all for granted. Now D has to do it.
