URBAN MEYER Recruiting Advice [DOCUMENT]

Did y'all READ this thing? Good advice, in a rather corporate, "feel good", For-PR-Purposes sort-of-way.
Still, while you'll be doing fine, in general terms, if you apply and adhere to these "policies", there is a certain smug "We know what we're doing, you don't have to know the details"-attitude that pours off of this document. Yeah, we GET the picture, what it's "SUPPOSED" to be about ideally (as if they thought of all this first and are the only ones doing things "the right way").
Judging by the FACTS of what he actually left us with, the problem-filled seasons before that where off-field entanglements steadily mounted and eventually began costing us in the locker room, then ON THE FIELD, and the preponderance of head-cases we are STILL dealing with now, how many of you, like me, when they saw this document's title ("Recruiting Advice from Urban Meyer?!!") also thought something like, "Is that like Morality Advice from Joe Paterno?"?
Ok--that was out-of-line, I guess. THIS at least IS "just" about football--if any lives are being damaged, it's young men doing it to themselves.
You get my point here, though: Where we once may have cut Urban some slack ( a whole LOT of slack, once-upon-a-time) for this kind of self-important pontificating, given the subject and its irony in subsequent events and realities, by now it is hard not to roll your eyes a little and say to yourself, "Yeah yeah yeah...these are nice words and ideas, and everyone SHOULD follow them--but they tell us very little of what actually takes place in the REAL world--and anyway, next time maybe you should concentrate on following them and keeping your OWN house in order, Urban."

Just out of curiosity, did you hate Urban Meyer as much when he was winning national championships and creating scores of players who were taken in rounds 1-3 of the NFL draft?

I know you have trouble with complex ideas, the definition of more-than-two-syllable words, and any form of logic, but try to grasp this rather simple thought, in answer to your question above: THAT'S why they call it "BETRAYAL", and that's why so many of us are angry. You know, the reason you're here with that stupid quote-and-picture, and your vapid efforts to mock us in the FIRST place?
Anyway, none of this has anything to do with you, so maybe you really SHOULD stop "granting me an audience", King Lonely Nobody. But like your whole routine and very presence here, you just can't stop, can you?

This is spot on. Block, you should read this very close before speaking on B.U.M.'s behalf. His promise means nothing to us or OSU . His word is s#1t and so is he....
Right on, SP--I'd forgotten about this column/open letter, which says it all so well...
But don't expect much in the way of insight OR humility from this one, Gator--HE knows better than ALL of us.
(Good to have you around again tho', man.)

I'm happy for Urban Meyer. Can't wait until his team is in the playoffs getting stomped by SEC teams.
