I'm telling you--and everyone else, everywhere Gators "gather" electronically to discuss these things: This is another HUGE reason why we must face reality and begin to push for a change NOW. Losing a whole class of recruits will have long term repercussions that the next Head Coach will have to deal with--may even cause prospective candidates to shy away from a complete rebuild, if we wait that long.
It's all part of a larger process of building a foundation, rising to dominance, then falling back to mediocrity if/when the "new gets old", the arrogant and satisfied lay back on their rep, believe their own press while the fans, press and powers-that-be behind the scenes dither and point fingers but do nothing until its long past too late to do anything but start all over again.
We're not THERE yet, but all the same old mistakes are being made; if only the long slow trend were short-circuited somehow, a big shake up occurred and a new regime took over SOON, we could be again on the rise by next season--THIS year is lost regardless, and what could have been a championship run NEXT season would be a "come back year" under the "best" of circumstances I've already proposed, but we need to face the stark reality and ACT...To be more precise, since it will not be our current Head Coach who does what must be done (surely folks out there are finally realizing that this is the case!), it is J. Foley, our A.D. who must make the hard choice, be a LEADER. He has the power. Does he have the strength and courage?
