Don't know why, exactly, maybe because we've been on such a constant upswing on and off the field, in virtually every area of signs, portents and practical moves and indicators--But I am having my toughest after-season/wait-for-spring ball time in YEARS.
It has gotten so bad that I am actually seriously considering rearranging my work/time off schedule in order to possibly make it to Florida, mostly just to see and get a feel for how our team'll be shaping up by then. Oh, I'm thinking I might be able to get in a little Grapefruit League Baseball touring too, but clearly it'd be 99% about daily practice in G-ville and hopefully the spring game (whatever they are calling it now).
Anyone familiar with this regime's approach to public access vis a vis practices during the week? For years there it was progressively more restricted under the various Coaches (as if "the public" were somehow responsible for their deteriorating performance output). Somehow I get the impression this will be less the case under Coach Mullen--but so far I have little concrete detail in the way of how that will play out in practical terms.
I don't even know if I can make it work, no matter what: It'd require sacrifices professionally on my part (With SXSW, March and just after are hugely important in Austin, especially to those of us connected to music, film etc...), so...
But fact remains, no matter WHAT I learn and/or decide to do about it, this is one year where I just can't WAIT to get "NEXT SEASON" going, THE SOONER THE BETTER.
Y'all feeling similarly?
