The Gator basketball team is fresh off a a big win against Alabama yesterday. Granted Alabama sucks, but the Gators really needed this win, and it vaulted them back into a tie for first place in the SEC East. With only 5 games left on the schedule, the Gators need to win at least 3 of them to advanace to the NCAA Tourney.
Yes they just reached 20 wins for the 11th year in a row, but their RPI just isn't that strong and they have been playing poorly down the stretch.
The University of Florida is doing everything they can to pack the O'Dome for tomorrow's game against Vanderbilt. The Gators have had a hard time selling tickets, so for the game they will have shooting contests, music, free food and a chance to win Best Buy gift certificates for the fans.
Beginning at 11 a.m. a basketball goal will be set up outside Gate 3 and shooting contests with the Rowdy Reptiles will be held with some lucky winners walking away with gift certificates to Best Buy.
There will be a pre-game cookout where Rowdies can take advantage of free burgers and hot dogs, while a bounce house will also be placed outside of Gate 3.
The festivities will hopefully draw a big crowd of fans and pack the seats. Florida crushed Vanderbilt 94-69 back in January, but don't expect a beatdown this time. Vandy will be more prepared. I'm predicting a Gator win, but a close game like 74-71.
