NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Alex Gordon made four free throws over the final 24 seconds, and No. 24 Vanderbilt held off Florida 61-58 on Saturday to remain undefeated at home this season.
Vanderbilt (22-4, 7-4 Southeastern Conference) has won 29 of its last 30 at Memorial Gym dating to last season. The Commodores’ fifth straight win moved them into third place in the SEC’s Eastern Division.
Florida (19-7, 6-5) had every reason to feel comfortable here, having won four of the last six on this floor. The Gators led 58-57 with 54 seconds left but didn’t score again in losing for the fourth time in five games.
Shan Foster led Vanderbilt with 19 points. Gordon, whose two free throws with 24 seconds to go put Vandy ahead to stay, finished with 12. A.J. Ogilvy also had 12 points.
Nick Calathes and Marreese Speights both had 11 points for Florida, the two-time defending national champion, while Walter Hodge added 10.

That was a terrible ending. This is getting a little more desperate now. I have faith in the Gators though.
