The Florida Gators have their SEC Home Opener tomorrow night in the Swamp vs. the Kentucky Wildcats. The Gators have won 23 in a row against UK, the second-longest active streak for a major Division I school against a major opponent in an uninterrupted series. If the Gators win tomorrow night it will also give Coach urban Meyer his 100th career victory, making him one of the fastest to reach that milestone. Vegas has Florida favored by 14 points - it's tough to tell how the game will play out, but I'm thinking something along the lines of 35-13... Gators win.
The Gators shouldn't have any problem beating the Wildcats, but Kentucky is a solid team. They are 3-0 so far and play like a scrappy team. A few bad turnovers and the Gators could get behind fast.
We haven't seen Florida get off to a fast start in any game this season, so I wouldn't bet on them doing it against Kentucky. I think it will be pretty close going into halftime (maybe 14-7) and then the Gators will open it up big in the second half. They might get a spark from a defensive or special teams score.
Florida hasn't really relied on Brantley throwing the ball at all this year. He's averaging only 170 yards passing per game. I think this is the game where he might push 250-275 yards passing and 3-4 scores. They have to be tired of everything criticizing the offense. I'm sure we'll see a healthy dose of Demps (probably 17-20 carries) but I also think we'll see the emergence of Frankie Hammond Jr and Andre Debose.
