Just saw this on another site. The only defending champion to beat UGA was the 1998 Vols when they beat UGA in 99.

1981: Clemson wins National Championship
1982: UGA-13 CU-7

1990: Ga. Tech wins National Championship
1991: UGA-18 GT-15

1996: Florida wins National Championship
1997: UGA-37 UF-17

2003: LSU wins National Championship
