-When head coach Will Muschamp was asked about the status of defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd on Monday, he simply replied, "I have no comment on that at this point.."

According to the Palm Beach Post, Floyd will have an NCAA hearing on Tuesday and if all goes well, he will be able to play this Saturday. The Post spoke with his high school coach Ron Cohen from George Washington High School in Philly.

When thinking about the reason why Floyd was ineligible, one could think illegal benefits not necessarily by an agent or booster as ruled out by UF but Floyd inadvertently acquiring a benefit.

Floyd was declared ineligible for last Saturday's game against Florida Atlanta, but the school noted that it was not because of involvement with a sports agent, a booster or a recruiting matter.

A statement read "We have declared Sharrif Floyd ineligible and he is not eligible to compete until his eligibility is reinstated by the NCAA."

"We have been and will continue to work with the NCAA until this matter is resolved.
recruitment to Florida. We will not have any additional comment on this matter until it is resolved."

According to his high school coach his "name came up" when the NCAA was investigating illegal benefits receive by certain members of the University of North Carolina football team.

We should know within a day or so Floyd's eligibility and eventually the reason behind his ineligibility.

It's Wed. afternoon, and I STILL can't find anything further about Shariff's eligibility, which frankly affects us a lot more than TAMU's status--which of course is all OVER the media. This is altogether weird, the whole deal, from beginning to so-far-no-end (I'm talking about the NCAA's dark dithering with Floyd's life, NOT Baylor's questionable and flimsy pseudo-temper-tantrum, although that is ALSO kind of weird, I grant you). Please let us know if and when you get your first concrete word on what the "problem" is, and how it will be dealt with.
