SEC Championship Day

This is my 13th SEC Championship Game and I can’t wait just because the atmosphere is so amazing.
This is also the 20th SEC title game and in 12 of them a team came to Atlanta with a chance to win a national title.
Actually, there were three other times there was an outside chance for an SEC team:
1994: Alabama was unbeaten and ranked third before Florida nipped the Tide 24-23.
1997: Tennessee was ranked third and went to the the Orange Bowl but was hammered by No. 2 Nebraska. Michigan won the title.
2004: Auburn was unbeaten and ranked third but didn’t get a shot.
The games with a shot on the line:
1992: Alabama beat Florida and won the NC.
1995: Florida won and played for he NC.
1996: Florida won the NC.
1998: Tennessee won the NC.
2001: Tennessee would have gone to the Rose Bowl with a win but lost to LSU.
2003: LSU won the NC.
2006: Florida won the NC.
2007: LSU won the NC.
2008: Florida won the NC.
2009: Alabama won the NC.
2010: Auburn won the NC.
2011: LSU can win the NC.
Here are the number of appearances in the big game:
Florida — 10.
Alabama — 7.
Tennessee — 5.
LSU — 5.
Auburn — 4.
Georgia — 4.
Arkansas — 3.
Mississippi State — 1.
South Carolina — 1.
Ole Miss, Kentucky and Vanderbilt have yet to make it.

Well, it was a "Game" for almost 3 quarters--and all I could keep thinking was, "Um, let's see: we played this Bulldog team pretty evenly and would have BEATEN them with ANY kind of offense, and that LSU team they're playing-close is the best team in the country..." To be honest, it was actually a relief when LSU pulled away from the end-of-third qrtr on--more in keeping with how things shaped up from what we've seen, how WE matched up.
Look, even with all the injuries, mistakes, head cases and missed opportunities, the evidence was on the field this season:
Give Muschamp his kind of players and a few games to get them to start playing as a TEAM, and our "D" will have us in EVERY game, against ANYONE; the question remains, can Charlie Weis do the same if given the same for his offense?
Of course, at this point--with Urban Meyer conspiring to grab our Recruiting Coordinator and screwing with our whole prospective recruiting class--will we still have a proper chance to get them for EITHER squad?
We WERE "on our way"--on our way to bringing in one amazing recruiting class, the one we NEEDED to turn the corner, to give our Coaches and this TEAM what they needed to really come BACK next year. Now, who knows?
So much is riding on this for our Gators that it already WAS scary. Now, it's gone to a new place: we HAVE to get this DONE--and it turns out that it is now, of all times, that a hidden "mole" was there to "stick it to us". If this WERE between nations, upon discovering Urban's role in procuring information as our enemy during the waning days of his stepped-up "presence" in the Gator offices would have earned him a summary execution, death-by-firing-squad--for treason AND espionage. As it is, of course, we couldn't shoot him, had to just cut off his access and watch him walk away. Now we wait and see how much damage he is doing/has done...and hope that both behind-the-scenes AND (eventually) on-the-field our various "forces" can punish them, pay Urban Meyer and all who throw in with him back, WITH INTEREST, for his treachery and manipulative lies.
