Coach Will Muschamp would not give a status update on John Brantley after the game.
He said Monday they will give an update but that Brantley was not taken to the hospital and that it was of course a lower leg injury he suffered in the second quarter.
De'Ante Saunders did not dress for the game and was suspended for violation of team rules.
On Jeff Driskel's play Muschamp said "You have to play around him. And we didn't protect very well. When you don't have time to throw the ball and you're getting hit in the throat, yeah you do overthrow it."
Driskel finished with 2-of-6 completions for 14 yards.
The stat which defines it all: Alabama rushing: 226 yards Florida rushing: 15 yards.
The Gators were overmatched against the Tide offensive line, and running back Trent Richardson who averaged 6.2 yards per carry on 29 carries for 181 yards and two touchdowns.
The play which said it all: John Brantley was sacked with 35 seconds to go in the first half. The senior QB's leg was pinned to ground resulting in what appeared to be a serious knee injury.
No one could have predicted that an 18-yard old true freshman QB would rush for more yardage (31) than Gator senior running back Chris Rainey who finished with seven rushing yards and fellow senior running back Jeff Demps who finished with just two in the biggest game of the season to this point.
"We've got to push through, injuries are a part of the game, you've got to go to the next guy," Muschamp concluded.
90,888 witnessed a nearly total domination for three quarters by the Tide at the Swap. Next Saturday the Gators travel to Baton Rouge for a 3:30 CBS game vs undefeated No. 1/3 LSU.
