That's how much relative interest appears to be left among our small circle of dedicated, if long-sufferimg Gator "die-hards" here at "Gator Envy".
Not much inducement to carry on, just now--even for a "By-Week Saturday"!
But it isn't just us.
Next week is the Cocktail Party in Jacksonville, and though the usual crowd of enthusiastic drink-and-party-goers will no doubt make the local trek from G-villle cross-state into Duval County, how much will that mean to the "G-Nation-at-large"?
I'm afraid a realization of the expected LOPSIDED BEATDOWN about to be delivered to us by UGA this time could amount to a Death Knell for any resurgent hope surfacing anytime soon for our program.
These things have a way of gathering steam, carrying more and more momentum of their own into tomorrow and beyond.
We cannot let that happen!
Somehow we must join together, hunker down and support what Napier and this new staff are trying to do as they change not just the MAKE-UP of this team, its very FOUNDATION of players and playing-STYLE, but the very way we approach each season and game ahead, however bleak the outlook.
I just don't see what CHOICE we have--unless a return to the role of "Sleeping Giant", perennial "also ran" is something y'all are ready for.
The only alternative is determined, hardened support for the "hard road ahead"--to back this Coach, team and long, tough days to come through the frustration, disappointment and slow climb back to heights at times just barely recalled. It'll get worse before it gets better--but that is what is required from here. REMEMBER:
"There ain't no easy way out"!
